bringing the reality to the dream

recently i've been bringing small realities to my dreams. mostly things that are right around me. sounds and feelings. so if there are people near me talking i can bring that into my dream, or the sound of a fan. the feel of the sheets.
does anyone else do this? also, i can't find a way to actually incorporate it into the dream, any ideas?

Well I have to say one of my gifts is to fall asleep anywhere! I once fell asleep in the middle of a huge busy airport and I found I was bringing the voice from the over head speaker (you know telling people they can't smoke in the terminal in all kinds of languages) into my dream. I also know i am aware of things around me when I dream at home. I find I also don't always incorporate these outside noises/feelings into my dreams, it's just that I am aware of what is going on around me as I dream. Of course our other body functions don't stop during the night so it only seems normal to me that we are going to hear/feel outside things while dreaming. If we can't incorporate it into the dream then maybe since your mind is conscious enough you can say to yourself "Hey I'm hearing my fan but I'm not asleep.... or am I?" Kinda use it as a reverse dream sign. Then ignore your fan and have fun in your dream!!!!

Oh yes! I did that too. Once I was sleeping and a person in next room was typing...

And in that dream I saw a girl, typing on a virtual keyboard...

Sounds like you can use this to your advantage. Next time something feels out of place... Do a reality check!

Yes I know this could happen to anyone. Ex: Telephone ringing etc. You sound a bit more sensitive than usual though.

i've never done reality checks. i dont feel the need to, i identify my dreams quite quickly. what i really want to try and do is incorporate the two 'worlds'. i want to bring real things into this fictional world. i figure if you can bring the real to the fictional, then theres a bridge. and bridges go both ways....

I bring actual realities in my dreams, which make them VERY difficult to identify them as dreams. Like, last night I dreamt that I walked in on my parents discussing the fight they had. In real life, about 2 days ago, they had a fight. Or, sometimes in my dream I'll be on my period when it's that time of month.

I don't bring things that I actually experience while I go to sleep intoa dream, though.
