      Need help with reoccering dream.

Every single night i dream that im at school. It REALLY is going to make me crazy. I am used to not having dreams and i dont like having dreams where i am confined in a space and i must follow regulations. any help stopping the reoccering dream?

i think maybe you should try to interpret them.
Are you neverous about school? Success? Failure? A teacher you dont like?
Anything that would make your subconscious dwell on school...

What are you doing in these dreams while you're at school? Sitting there? Taking a test? Walking through the halls? If there's some sort of common theme to them, maybe you can develop a reality check to help you become lucid in these dreams, which will allow you to change them accordingly.

I know what you're going through. I dream that I'm at work a lot. Most times it's when I'm anxious about something happening at work. So I try some meditation to calm my thoughts before bed so I don't feel so anxious.

Or maybe try some dream incubation. Visualize what you WANT to dream about - the place, the time, the feeling it gives you, etc. Or visualize yourself having your school dream, then getting up, walking out the door, and arriving in a totally new dreamscape.

All worth a shot, I guess. All you've got to lose are more school dreams.

As Burn stated, becoming lucid will aid in the end of this dream. Try out some of these induction techniques.

Also, you may want to keep a dream journal to improve your dream recall.
      I can because I know I can.

Well, what about the parts about clearing your thoughts, or trying dream incubation? Complaining about it isn't going to get you anywhere. Try some different things and see where it takes you.

I would just try to do the reality check. If i had kept having the same dream scene it would be easy to say... "ok, if i am at school do a reality check." Try it, i bet you will get a couple lucid dreams out of it. You just have to get into a habit or remembering that reality check.

i posted this in the other thread that this person made, but anyway...

recurring dreams usually means that you have a current fixation or need that needs to be satisfied... and it is manifested in your dream, so that the need would not overwhelm your consciousness. there is a very, very thin line between dreaming as a defense mechanism and a lucid dream.

reality checks wouldn't work because they nee to be tried in awake too, but i dont go to school. i probably had 5 separate dreams last night, all in school. i really hate it. This happened last summer too.

lucidity is key buddy. You need to follow the advice given, go lucid, and turn your school into whatever the hell you want.

I'd look at this as a blessing. If it's reocurring, you have a far greater shot at becoming lucid. It should feel familiar.
