      High without drugs?

The other night I was sitting at the computer, when all of a sudden I felt extremely spaced out. I felt like I was floating off my chair. In short, I felt high.

I've never tried drugs. The only time I was ever high that I know of was when I was on some super-strong antibiotics and they made me trippy and emotionally unstable.

I felt that way until I went to sleep that night. That night, I dreamed that I had taken a small dose of LSD and I was experiencing threshhold effects.

My question is this: Is the state of being "high" attainable without drugs?

I believe that it def is. I have had that feeling, its kinda like a daydream but no dream when you space out and then you come back and its like damn...I also believe ( this may just be a theory) that you can feel like like you smoked marijuana because we have THC receptors and if we somehow get them to react by meditation i bet it will work

I always do far too many drugs when I dream about them...

all drugs really do is release chemicals and receptor neurons in your brain that are already there
and I think with some prior knowledge of at least the feeling of what they do could trigger some emotional chemical reaction

      dunno.....

Yeah, the few times I have done self-hypnosis/meditation I totally felt like that.

I wasn't doing hypnosis, it just happened.

Maybe somebody shot me up with something when I wasn't looking. I doubt that though.

Lol. That's happened to me too, now that I think about it, but only a couple times. It was great, and drugfree. I don't know if it was the same as drugs (never tried any), but it was high.

I've definitely had those weird random highs... One time, I *swear* I got high off a pretzel that I ate at the student center at my college.

A lot of these statements are not true.. that 'all drugs really do is release chemicals and receptor neurons in your brain that are already there' and that there are THC receptors in the brain...
It is true that we have THC receptors, but that is not what they are for, and all THC receptors do is RECEIVE THC, they don't cause any effects caused by THC, just as a gasoline powered engine can't run without gasoline.
The statement that 'all drugs really do is release chemicals and receptor neurons in your brain that are already there' is slightly true for some drugs, (like cocaine, which blocks endorphines from leaving, and therefore causing them to build up.) Drugs do MANY things, and highs are created by MANY MANY reasons. You can get high from holding your breath and bending over.
I have definately felt what you are describing. I felt it when and when I was not doing drugs. I believe it may have something to do with your blood pressure, as I felt it a LOT when my blood pressure spiked to ultra-ultra-dangerous levels (for one reason or another ) Perhaps there's not enough oxygen to the brain. That's what it always felt like to me... It feels like you're out of your head, right? Like you're floating away? There are many things that cause highs. It's not just 'drugs.' Any chemical imbalance, abnormal body function, or even ILLNESS or poison can make you high.
Some of it depends on what you call 'high'. Datura is a very weird high, and is unlike any other high I've ever felt. It isn't so much of a high as it is a really weird feeling, but by all intensive purposes, it IS a high. Mushrooms have body highs, along with mind highs.
The word 'High' has a very wide definition.
