      Ouch....

      Good news, I think...

      Well.. We were in a building that took you to the main place, where the people I was with went. SO me and a racoon type thing went on the elavator a ton of times, making the place mad, and we were booted off. SO we walked around, and found the way out. There was two dogs guarding it, a fierce one, and a REALLY fierce one. Luckly, the really fierce one was on the other side, on a island type thing. (We were on a bridge) Well I turned back, got some more people, and went back. The dog talked, and said I wasn't gonna pass and that the other dog was really mean.. Well, I was pushed, and fell into the water, and floated to the really fierce one. Well he bit me, and here's the ouch part- I FELT IT!

      It felt like my arm was being crushed....

      Anyways, I started drowing him, the other dog said help him, so I put him on the bridge, and they let me pass.

      I'm not going to bother you with the details of my next dream, but I was spying on some people and was hiding in the grass (I would be arrested if caught) and felt the grass on me!

      So, has anyone else started to feel things in their non LD's?

      This merely means that for whatever reason the sense of touch interpreted from the conceptual though of your dreams was interpreted into sensory information more vividly and actively than before.

      Perhaps you've been paying more attention to your sense of touch lately? Or has anything happened related to your physical state (such as great pain, etc.)? There may be quite a number of possible explanations.

      Either way, I'd say that one can train any senses in a manner of focus in order to make dreams more vivid. Surely dreams become more fun with all the senses rather than merely sight along with conceptual thought.

      It is alot more fun.

      I haven't been paying any more attention to my touch then I normally do.. I think it's just the fact I'm starting to become more expeirenced in dream matters. Now all I need is smell and taste.

      A dog biting doesn't really feel like your arm being crushed....

      Hehe. I have been bitten by a dog. On three occasions. And only once was my fault (maybe 1.5 times). The first time I was young like maybe 7 and a toy went over the neighbors fence. I scaled the fence to attempt retrieval (thereby entering their pet pitbulls territory) well he latched himself on my face and I was really lucky I wasn't disfigured. Luckily someone saved me before he did any more than superficial and emotional damage. Quite obviously I see now this was my fault, as by encroaching on his territory I made an act of aggression. Second time I was roughly 12, and my own pet dog, whom I had raised for a year from a puppy, decided one day he was just going to latch onto my leg. Come to find out later it was because we had sent him to a "friends" house to stay whilst we flea bombed the house. He had gone under her couch and ingested a myriad of pills that she evidently left there for some reason. We know this cause later there were pill fragments in his fecal matter. These pills evidently fried his brain. I remember being told we were getting rid of him to some people. Hehe now I wonder if my mom had him put down. The third, final, most recent and most disturbing time was 1 year ago. I was 21. My friends had a pet german shephard. This dog knew me well and liked me a lot. I had spent a ton of time at their house so he didn't even bark when I drove up anymore. One day I was walking to their bathroom and reached down to pet him. He immediatly lept up and bit my face, luckily I jumped back and he only scratched me with his teeth. He then went for my crotch. I jumped back again and this time my friend basically wrangled his dog away from me, as I fled from the house. This may be partially my fault as I had smiled at this dog earlier, causing him to growl at me (most likely taking my smile to be a baring of teeth, an act of aggression) furthermore he may have actually been dreaming and I startled him in the midst of it. Regarless I am pretty wary of any kind of dog now. I'm a cat person ^^!

      OK so none of this pertains to the topic. When I first learnt about lucid dreaming, I was talking to my friend on AIM about it. He asked me what it would be like if he did such and such, which he had never done IRL. I told him that I figured it would be exactly as he expected it. Since your brain has no memory to go by it must fathom what a new experience is like. Obviously a dog bite does have a considerable amount of pressure, you know this. Whether the teeth are sharp or not would depend on the size and breed of dog I think. From my experiences and what I can remember, there is actually a crushing sensation. Your brains interpretation may be more accurate than you might think. The mind is an amazing thing. I don't know really. I tend to think about the brain in terms of computers, which is something I DO know. In computer processor architecture there is a process known as branch prediciton. It's basically a "what happens next" process. Definition from the internet:
      Pipelined machines must fetch the next instruction before they have completely executed the previous instruction. If the previous instruction was a branch, then the next-instruction fetch could have been to the wrong place. Branch prediction is a technique that attempts to infer the proper next instruction address, knowing only the current one. I imagine its kind of like that.
      Basically knowing only what it has experienced before , the brain draws on that and "guesses the proper outcome" to determine what's next. Whilst this is a weak explanation that certainly understates it, that's what I think.

      End note: I like to define things. I realize that some people believe dreams are much more than just the brain doing things. If that's how you feel, then please disregard what I said. Yes it is what I think (or at least tell myself heh), but I pretty much have to have a "reason" for everything so to speak. I am actually a pretty spiritual person myself. I believe in God. I cannot look at the world around me and believe it just happened. Sciency folks like to quote the big bang theory. OK so maybe there was a tiny mass of super dense material and that was all. It exploded and tada! The universe. This begs the question "Where did the tiny mass of super dense material come from" I have heard that it has always been there, that the universe contracts and expands. "It has always been there"... That's no more logical than saying God made it in the first place. Which is where I stand. Whoops kinda digressed there a little, sorry ^^;

      last night I was dreaming about warm snow, and I felt some and it felt JUST like snow texture-wise, but it was no colder than my hands.

      @ Leixor:

      crush Audio pronunciation of "crushing" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (krsh)
      v. crushed, crush·ing, crush·es
      v. tr.

      1. To press between opposing bodies so as to break.
      2. To break, pound, or grind (stone or ore, for example) into small fragments or powder.

      ^ Trust me, i've felt a dog's bite, and a cat's bite, and other animal bites / claws.

      And a dog's bite doesn't feel like your arm is being broken or pounded or grinded into small fragments (in other words, like it's being smashed to pieces)

      First off forgive me if I accidentally sound offended, I'm not but my computer just decided to crash halfway through this post so I'm writing it for the second time -.-;

      Note sense 1: To press between opposing bodies so as to break.

      In my mind the dogs jaws would be the opposing bodies and there would be considerable pressure. Taken from http://www.dogbitelaw.com/PAGES/bite.htm

      Generally, therefore, a bite is an action by a dog in which the mouth of the dog closes around an object or person, and causes impact with the object or person. If the dog closes its jaws on something, it "bites" that thing, or that person, whether or not the skin is damaged. In fact, some of the most painful dog bite injuries consist of crush wounds to the soft tissues beneath the skin. For example, a victim wearing denim jeans might have a painful crush injury but no broken skin.

      and from http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/..._infections.jsp

      Dogs usually inflict crush injuries because they have rounded teeth and strong jaws; thus, the bite of an adult dog can exert up to 200 pounds per square inch of pressure. This pressure usually results in a crushing injury, causing damage to such deep structures as bones, blood vessels, tendons, muscles, and nerves.

      All bold was added by me. Regardless in the end, what one person might describe one way might be described differently by another. I would certainly call it crushing but that's just me. Also

      I agree with half of that and disagree with the other. "... arm is being broken" I disagree I think it feels quite like that. "pounded or grinded into small fragments" Yeah it definetely does not feel like that, not from any I've experienced... Anyway I just kinda felt the need to respond to that, it's not important at all really lol...

      I've noticed touch in dreams, all right.
      A few days ago I had a nightmare concerning huge bees. They were on two legs and slashing claws at me!
      I mean, I wasn't being crushed by dogs or anything, but still.

      Seriously, I fucking HATE bees now. There were 100 1-foot-tall bees that were slashing claws at me.
      Still... in my next (this is assuming I'll have one) LD, I'll be an Orkin man! WHEEE!
