I've noticed my dreams have changed a lot since I was little. (Which is to be expected, I'd guess.)

When I was little (I remember back to some dreams I had when I was at the most 3, they're among my favorite. Perhaps for the naivety of them?) my dreams would be extremely vivid and colorful. Sometimes they were so lifelike, and set in my bedroom, that it would scare the heck out of me. I would never realize I had woken up before my frightened self ran to my parents who would have to sit there and convince me it wasn't real. Specific recurring dreams I'd have that would frighten me I grew to enjoy. (At which point they stopped, hmm. ) Above all I remember that I'd see a ton of hypnagogic imagary all the time. (Though of course at the time I had no clue what it was called. =P )

Then the vivedness sort of faded away. The hypnagogic imagery occured less and less often. I started being jolted out of my dreams. This would occur when I'd reach out to grab an object in the dream, and there'd be nothing there- my hand would go right through it. Probably the closest thing to a lucid part of a dream I can claim to remember having.

Presently, my dream sign usually is either a guy (or guys) from school, me being in school and having weird things happen (A tree growing in the middle of the hallway, a random concert in the cafeteria.), or things' "physical" dream selves changing while who/what they actually represent remains the same. (Like if I'm at my house it can suddenly morph into a place my mind randomly created, then to my grandma's house, and finally back to my house. Despite the obvious differences, they're all the exact same place to me when I'm dreaming.) Even with these identified dream signs I still never notice I'm dreaming. It's only after I wake up that I want to slap myself for just accepting those strange happenings. xD And now rather than just being myself in a dream it is different every night. While sometimes I am myself, just as often I'll be a random character of my mind's creation. Occasionally I'm not even in the dream but rather watching a sequence of events like it was a movie, which are the hardest to remember and describe.

So, I'm curious. Has the way you dream been the same as long as you can remember or have you noticed significant changes? It's always fascinating to hear (Or in this case read. =P) about how different people's dreams differ. ^^

When I was very young, like 4-8 yrs, my dreams would be intense, extremely colorfull and would be indestinguishable from real life. As I got older, I suppose I stopped truly caring about dreaming, as when you are younger there isnt too much you have to do except go out and play, come back in, fall asleep, dream. When one gets older, they are confronted with more tasks, and less time to enjoy the sleep. I guess what I'm saying is that when you get older, you stop enjoying the sleep, and moreso depend
upon it so you can make it through the next day...

I hope I wasnt the only one to have gotten that.

Oh, and BTW, selcome to dreamviews =D
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...
