When looking back through my dream journal I have had some very interesting dreams that I would love to revisit, but am not sure how. Some people focus on a dream they have had while they are falling asleep. My problem is that seconds before I go unconscious my mind will always wonder.

So I have a couple of questions for people here.

      1) What techique would you recommend to help one reenter a dream they have had before?
      2) What dreams have you had that you would like to revisit?

I don't really have a techique that works for me, hence me asking. By the time I would enter REM I would not even remember my affirmations anyway.

I had an interesting dream that was like one of those MasterCard commercials "for everything else, there's MasterCard" except it was tailored to my interest, and it had the same voice as in the commercial, talking about wolves and such. I want to revisit it so I can recall exactly what was said.

However, I also wonder if I were to revisit a dream, would it play out the same?

1.Well, the only method I can think of is a auto suggestionish type technique, with some VILD. Think alot about your dream, while thinking "I WILL go back to this dream!"

      2. I'd like to revisit: One was this weird dream, my first good dream. I got chased by a bus and it switched from 3-D to 2-D alot, and when I ran away into a garden, I hid behind a pot and a comic of everything that had happened in the dream. I just wanna go there to find out why this stuff was happening..

      3. Well, I don't think it would, I mean, I have never had two dreams the same. But anyways, if you become lucid, there's more of a chance, I mean if you're good at LDing you could use Dream Control to your advantage, you could make sure that nothing changes the dream.
