Ok, first of all I would like to say my mind needs to wander to fall asleep. You know when you think of something and it links to another thing which you think of and then another and then another? Well I need to be doing that or else I can't fall asleep (so no MILD, VILD, Auto Suggestion, and probably WILD). Its pretty easy for me and will happen almost unconciously, especially when I'm tired.

Also, it takes a little while for me to fall asleep. Always around 20 minutes to around an hour, when I'm not excited. Around the 15 minute point I see HI (at least thats what I think it is, random dark blobs of colour). When I'm in my unconcious mind wandering state, I visualize very vividly, but when I try to visualize conciously its usually crappy. When I try to WILD, I never have gotten anything but the random dark blobs of colour I got. No sp, sounds, dream scenes, or whatever.

      Now to the point.

Lately my nights have been freaky. First of all, some dreams which I'm not even sure I've had are riddled with false awakenings, most of them while not lucid. I mean like I would have a FA, go back to the dream, 5 seconds later have a FA, go back to the dream, try to fight the FA and fail, etc.

So last night, I remember me having my head on my pillow, then suddenly I was lying on sand and saying "oh crap now my hair is sandy." That's all I remember.

I can't tell at all, was that a dream, was the a visualization, what was it.

What the hell is happening to my sleep?

your dream lack any stability it is probley caused by you letting your mind wonder from thought to thought this problem is easily solved you say you lack any decent conscious images when trying to lucid dream if you check this website it acculately describe how to have them http://www.bio.net/hypermail/neur-sc...ne/024159.html if you do this you can do nearly any method you like. for stability in your dream try this http://www.plotinus.com/zhine_tibetan_dream_yoga.htm i had the problem of not being able to hold a lucid dream for long or the environment is really unstable so i get tricked back into normal dreaming. i find it help to relax remain conscious and just be awear in the hypnotic state the key to passing consciously in to dream is just awearness so do not stress yourself with hypnotic state because generally this can easily wreak dream recall and chances of having a lucid dream this proberly explained why you did not have or remeber the lucid dream where you was on a sandy beach.

I have no problem with any other dreams. It's just that lately I've been having things like this, aside to my regular dreams.
