Also I had stared at the images for 15 minutes, with no result, the images were still flashing lines, dots, or odd shaped things. well your probabable not relaxed enough so try reverse blinking

Eyes twitching some times happen with people, just try to ignore to it and relax. You say that you saw lines, dots ect then you were doing the right thing. Just because it was a non-lucid doesn't mean you should give up. Just keep saying (or thinking) to yourself you will go lucid while having HI and I'm sure you will go lucid.
