So i've been writing regularly in my dream journal for two weeks, but its been causing me to sleep lightly and wake up earlier and earlier every day and i can't get back to sleep. Although this is great for dream recall to begin with, the last few days i've gotten so tired my dream recall is getting worse, and i've had to stop journaling in the mornings before school to catch up on sleep.

So can a dream journal and lucid dreaming have any negative effects on your sleep patterns?

School does that to you, you sort of have to relax and get into a calm state before you sleep, like listen to some music and get lost in it, when your calm and relaxed lay down. Thats what helps me.
