When i started going to sleep i started seeing random images, than it sarted to get clearer i think i saw like 3 or 4 people not sure but they were down looking at and doing stuff, i was widely awake when this was happening

Yeah you were close. Once those images appear just keep telling yourself you're dreaming, so if you do get sucked into the dream you will remind yourself and find yourself in it. If that makes sense.
