I always do, and I keep thinking to myself something is in the room with me. And when I was trying to lucid dream last night (didn't work) I was getting sweaty and I could feel as though my eyes were moving left to right really fast. Was I about to dream? Or is this just common?

I rarely get hypnagogic imagery (I do get faded, passing dream scenes, though) so no, not everyone experiences HI when their eyes are closed. But if your eyes were in fact moving back and forth rapidly and you were experiencing strong imagery, you were either very close to or already in REM which is the stage of sleep during which dreams occur.

I've never experienced any definite imagery, even after lying there for 40+ minutes. I get shapes that come and go, but no dream scenes or illusory figures.

I have seen it sometimes. Just like white light flashing or long strings of "light" taking the most strange shapes. But I can't remember any of them that give a chance to create a dream scene or image.

I see streaks of light all of the time, I just haven't had like an eyeball seizure before (though it may have been REM that is what it felt like)

During meditating or relaxation methods it seems to happen too. The images and flashes go away once i lose focus and concentration and my mind starts wandering.

Hynopompic Hallucinations and hynagogic imagery are two very different variations of consciousness.
as stated in you topic title HH your eyes are open. Otherwise it would be a dream scene rather then a hallucination.
HI on the other hand most often always will occur while your eyes are shut. These are images that precede the images in a dream.
HI is usually before sleep. HH is often after a dream and in conjunction with sleep paralysis. Which is also often mistaken for alien abductions. seriously!

I used to get some form of HI almost every time I tried to WILD, but now, I hardly get it at all... Not quite sure what it is. I think I need to mess around with my sleep schedule and my WBTB timing maybe...
