I guess I don't understand. You're not doing anything wrong. So you wake up and your eyes are still closed? Keep them closed and try to reenter the dream.

I assume you mean you actually wake up as soon as you gain lucidity. This can be an annoying problem. If you have the chance to move in your dream, try rubbing your hands together and looking at them to gain stability. You can also try spinning around, falling backwards, and commanding your dream to stabilize (these methods of stabilizing a lucid dream can also be found in the tutorials).

If you wake up immediately, and thus, don't have time to do any of the above things, the problem lies with your expectation. You've gotten used to waking up as soon as you gain lucicity, and therefore, you always do. It's what you're expecting to happen by now. Countering this is a little harder, but still can be very simple. After all, it's all a matter of confidence. Use autosuggestion. That is to say: tell yourself before going to bed that you will not wake up if you gain lucidity. All the better if you can convince yourself of this when saying it, but if not, you might still find it will help you.
Other than that, the only thing I can advise you is to always stay patient. If you happen not to succeed the next time it happens, or even the time after that, you must not allow yourself to get frustrated. Frustration only makes things harder. Remind yourself of the fact that you probably have many nights of sleep ahead of you, and therefore have got more than enough time to make this work.

      Good luck.

i know what you mean. like you'll wake up but you're eyes will still be closed. When i have an LD the first thing i ALWAYS do is look at my palm. it helps so much i an't explain other than since i started looking at my palm my LDs have probably tripled.
