Hey all, I'm just copying this from my dream journal for last night to share what I think is my first LD experience (apart from some "accidentals" in the past). I'd love some thoughts from anybody who has them! Commence pasting. . . .

I think I remember my LD experience being next. I was lying in bed, like normal, and actually having feelings that I wasn't having any dreams that night (I had a strong feeling of that all night, it seems). But then, as I was lying on my right side, I was looking at what seemed like a black screen with a bright, multicolored image in the center. The image was like a heart, and like a flower, and was tangled with ribbons or something. Lots of blues and reds and greens and yellows. Somehow, I just had the consciousness that I was dreaming, and then that I was aware that I was dreaming! I was kinda stuck at this point. I couldn't really do anything, because all I had was that image on the screen. I felt like I was on the verge of waking up as soon as I became lucid, and I actually felt myself wavering between the dream state and waking (I just knew, some of you must know what that's like). It's like I was pushing/willing my body to get sucked into the screen, as if that was the portal to a more complete dream scene. As I had feelings of losing the dream, I did the hand-rubbing thing, which actually seemed to stabilize me, and after that I tried to spin on the spot, but I couldn't actually do it. The best way I can describe the feeling now that I reflect on it is like when you have one of those Magic-Eye pictures, and it's appeared for you, but when your eyes stray to the edges of the image, it starts to fall back into the background, so you're almost afraid to look too far away or disturb yourself too much. That's what this was like. After about a minute of trying, I woke up.

But I think it was a false awakening after that, because somehow I have the impression that my consciousness wasn't really conscious during that awakening. I gotta get better at frequent state tests. Oh well, I'm calling this one an LD, and the rush is really good just knowing I got my feet wet!
