      Thumbs down

First off, I'd like to aplogize if this should be going in one of the Off-Topic categories,

where other books are discussed. I just thought that.. well, it's far from off-topic, right?

And, I'm sorry if this gets long and/or redundant

      Anyway.

I've heard only good about LaBerge's book.. EWOLD [is that the right acronym?],

I've even heard if referred to as the Lucid Dreaming bible, hehe.

I got rather excited when I discovered I had that book! But, as it turns out... I don't.

Has anyone, who has read EWOLD, also checked out

"Lucid Dreaming" [published '85] by the same author?

I'm just curious how much these books have in common, and how much

knowledge would be gained from checking out EWOLD? I know it's a

good idea to check out any and all resources, but it would be somewhat

difficult for me to get my hands on... so yeah, I was just curious,

does anyone know the differences between these two books?

In my opinion, it is absolutely necessary to have EWOLD (yes, that's the right acronym! )

I haven't read Lucid Dreaming personally, but I know about it; it's very much like reading a reasearch paper I hear. I DO have EWOLD, and it explains everything in an easy to understand fashion, and provides a good foundation to understanding what many of the people on DreamViews are talking about! Plus, it still contains all the scientific analysis, but it's seperated into different chapters.

All in all, if you can find it, BUY IT! You get your money's worth.

      So, EWOLD isn't?

Because yes, I agree with that...

It's not as interesting as it could be, I suppose, for being a lucid dream book.

      Thank you for your reply!

I'll look out for it in the second hand book stores...

Our crummy library doesn't have it

I've read Lucid Dreaming but not the other book and I have to say it is fascinating and really insightful. I wouldn't call it terribly scientific and it helped me lucid dream. I had my first fully lucid dream after about 3 day after I finished the book. If all you want to know is how to do it, you can find that on-line anywhere from this site, to wikipedia, but if you want to understand the world, life, and science of dreaming I highly recommend sitting down and reading it.

As stated in "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", EWoLD is an improvement upon "Lucid Dreaming". Close at the beginning of the book, LaBerge answers a question along the lines of "Why this new book?" and goes in detail of what is compiled in it and what is different.

So, all in all, though I haven't read "Lucid Dreaming", I'd say Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming is great to have.

And yes, EWoLD is the best book on lucid dreaming out there in my opinion. It's the perfect mix of scientific explanations, persuasion and logic along with many other interesting aspects.

P.S. If you don't have the means/wants to acquire it, PM me, I'll share an electronic version... >.>

Man, my comment made me sound dreadfully unintelligent, didn't it?
