      Pillow Experiment

After a few days of experimenting on a theory I previously thought, of I have discovered some intresting facts about pillows.

During the past 2 weeks of switching between hard and soft pillows I have found that:

      1. Hard pillows give me an increased awareness in dreams, and an increased chance at lucidity. I figure that this is most likely because the mind is less asleep due to harsher conditions.
      2. Softer pillows give me better dream recall.

Now the one thing I can't figure out is why softer pillows give better recall in my case. By all means the harder ones should get better recall since, again, the mind is more aware.

Can someone who is willing experiment with it and see if it's just me?

You know I completely agree with you on the dream recall one. Sleeping on a nice comfy pillow I seem to be able to dream nice dreams and remember them much more vividly. Now give me a hard pillow or god forbid none at all and it seems like I have weird dreams in which I immediately become aware and therefore lucid. I have noticed it before and thought I was just being naive. Thanks for bringing it up.

Yea, I hadn't wanted to post on this either until I don't some experiments. Took me a while but it's reassuring to have confirmation on this. Thanks.

I like to differentiate...the pillow i use depends on my mood, and how long i have had one certan type. Change is good in this case!

I agree with the firm pillow. Also I believe it is better for your neck and back if it is firm and not huge where your neck is bent obscurely.
As long as your not bighting it

I always sleep on a hard pillow, but last night I used a softer one. I remembered thre really long dreams. I think you're on to something.

what if you got a medium pillow? do you think you would have more awareness and better recall or no awareness and no recall?

Two soft pillows here. I once slept with no pillows for a few nights. I would wake up confused and very few dreams, if any, remembered.

I have a foam pillow, and I can say it's shit. I have to bend it to make it firm as I like. I cant sleep on soft pillows...

I found that most of the time I sleep without a pillow, I get lucid dreams(or semi lucid ones).

I'll try sleeping without a pillow sometime (I sense that it will take some time drfting off though.) As a self-diagnosed involuntary-drooling extraordinaire though, any pillow I sleep on becomes a little uncomfortable

Yeah I sleep on Pillows in the Shape of 2 36 C cup breast. I get my best sleep snuggled inbetween those jugs. You guys gotta get some of these pillows if you really want a good nights sleep.

Bwhaha! Then you wake up one morning: "Wtf? Why is my pillow between my legs? Oh sh..."

I got to try no pillows actually. That's the only opinion I actually haven't experimented with myself.

I tried that once, the feathers kept poking through the pillow and into my head(not the soft part of the feathers). lol
