i remember when i was little and it sometimes happens to this day where i will dream somthing that will actually happen in life. i had a dream when i was about 10 where i was in a basement with my cousins, i could remember the look of the basement even though i have never been to it. then about 2 months later i went to my aunts and went down to their basement and it was exactly like the one in my dream and i was down there with my, lone behold, cousins from my dream! i have had a couple dreams like this, anyone else experianced this?

I dont know if deja vu is the the right terminology for this experience.. because when you have deja vu, you usually don't know why you recognise what has happened - but it is believed that maybe you experience similar places/environments/situations in dreams - which is why people seem to think that things have happened before. but, considering you may have good dream recall, it is interesting. also, Déjà visité is the terminlogy used when the place seems familiar.

I think that is what you call a precognitive dream, where you kind of experience something in a dream before you actually experience it in real life.

Things like this occasionally happened to me when I was young. I have an alternate possiblity, maybe when you are in a situation you thought was in a dream, it was actually your brain thinking it was in a dream, but it actually wasn't. (Don't ask me why though )

I dunno, but I haven't heard of anyone actually recording their dream after they have it and later experiencing something similar

I used to get that all the time. Once I was surprised with a trip to LA for my fourteenth birthday, and one night when we were in the hotel I got struck with probably one of the most intense deja vu I've ever had. Everything just felt surreal, and I instantly recalled the dream where I had seen this before (this was back when I wasn't recording dreams or anything). And remember, I never knew I was going to LA, I was waken up the morning before the flight and told "We're going to Disneyland!"

It's funny because my mind knew I was going to LA before I did!

I have this fairly intensely. Throughout my life I've moved around with my family a lot. I've lived in 7 houses so far and have gone to 4 schools and every time we moved I already knew the layout of the house and the surroundings. With the houses I lived in this wasn't particularly dramatic, I just knew the approximate layout of the house. But I was 100% familiar with all the schools I ever attended before arriving there. Didn't just know the layout, knew what everything would look like.

I experience dejavu way more now than as a child and it drives me crazy. I often wonder if it has anyhting to do with lucid dreaming. In my dejavu spells, it's not like I dreamed it but rather I have been there and done that and in real time. It scares the crap out of me and I hate it. I only get about a 5 second preview before it happends and I usually freeze and can't move during the dejavu which I think is more out of fright. The dejavu experiences are never about anything important and with only a 5 second preview before it happends, it wouldn't benefit me in anyway if I tried to change what I was foreseeing. Can lucid dreams cause you to experience dejavu?

that's not a dejavu that is a preminision. I don't know if I spelled that correctly. But if yousaw it in a dream before then it is a preminision. Dejavu you have no idea about why it seems familiar.

what if what you see is an EXACT event of what is happening but only played in your head a few seconds sooner? It's not just that I see what is about to happen, I KNOW it happend before and in present time because I remember being there and all the details including what I was wearing. Get this, I even have multilple dejavu's over the exact same thing like it not only happend once before but I can remember it happening multiple times before. I guess I'm just a head case? I would love for the dejavu or whatever it is to go away though.

Hey guys! I am new to the form, and joined just for this thread (I have been watching this site for a few weeks now). I have experianced this every few months. I usually just take notice of it and smile after it happens. It is really odd, because I never remember when I dreamed it or where I have seen it before, but I have the same chain of thought, taste in my mouth, and everything is exactly the same. Humm... I wonder if we could find anything online about this.

Often times I predict a plausible situation (consciously) that could happen in my life. I add unfamiliar surroundings combined with perhaps some unkown faces, and a plausible situation, and I wait for it to happen.

I've done it 3 times so far (in the 8 years I've been doing it) and each one came true... mind you, as you can see, it takes a few years to happen... but I remember when I see it, then I make a new one.
