      From Lucid Dream to OBE

I just joined this list yesterday and think the topics and conversations are great. I have been lucid dreaming for years on and off, but seem to be having them twice a week now. It started when I was eight or so, and didn't read up on them until I came across "Creative Dreaming" by Patricia Gardfield. Does anyone have suggestions from going from a lucid dream into an OBE? I have heard that spinning and crashing into a solid objects works. I tried crashing into a wall once a month ago and was transported back to my bedroom, where I could see the room briefly with my eyes closed. I didn't manage to pull out of my body, but the technique seemed to at least work in part. Anyone have any favorite methods?

We've kinda discussed that on other threads, but I guess it's kinda hard to sift through all the posts that these people put on this forum (yeesh getta life! )

The technique I've used to go obe is to lie flat on my back and concentrate on my breathing -deep at first, then regular and even. I keep focused on the rhythm of my breathing and my pulse at the same time... I haven't done this recently, only because I like other types of lucid dreams better than obes. When I did use this technique, I was able to enter into lucidity immmediately. The adrenaline effect occured (usually feels like pleasant surges of electricity coursing through your body) followed by a sensation of coming out of your physical body or floating upwards... Just my two cents. This may or may not work for you...

once you enter a lucid dream, you can travel out of your body anytime you want. it usually helps if you do wake induced lucid dreaming, i mean i think its easier, but you could prolly do it from anything else.i just think it helps if your in a dream but still able to hear things going on in reality. once your in the dream all you have to do is just think about it.just think about leaving your body and tell yourself you want to. look for vibrations, if you ever get a feeling of vibrations through out your whole body then your on your way out , but sometimes this feeling is so scary. it happens and most people think there dying becuase you really just roll out of your body. when you get scared like that you get sent back into sleep paralisis.

hrm. I personally don't have any advice at all as to how to achieve an out of body experience, because I've never had one myself. I had actually thought they were fictitious.

Now, to slightly digress for a moment, is there a real problem w/ some of the posts appearing on the board? I mean, I know some of them are a little off, but I didn't really want to say anything to discourage that just yet, because we're still a small board and perhaps the more posts there are, the more new users will be encouraged to post. Of course, the opposite could be just as true: too many irrelevant posts might persuade people to leave. I dunno.

Ok, I didn't realize that my questions would be considered off topic. It basically relates to the types of things one can do while in a lucid dream, that's all. Besides, a lot of posts are just funny replies to one another.

I just realizedthat we have a search engine in this list, so that will be useful to browse through messages to see if a question has already been answered and thus keep it fresh!

Your question wasn't off topic; we were speaking of other messages that are off topic and questioning whether they make it difficult to find useful messages or not.
