Have some of you have had movie like dreams and ones of epic proportions? It does not require longevity but the long vivid dreams I have gad have been very complex.
This is what started me to think about a dream's memory.

Example:
I am having an extended dream that has an unfolding plot, much like a movie. In these dreams there is a lot of information that is memory. Information that is required for the events that are currently happening, to happen.
Things that are givens. Things you already know.

Has your brain thought these out perceptions as you call upon them in your dream.
How does this in depth capacity of knowledge seem to already exist, if it is not realty?

I have epic dreams sometimes, usually I'm lucid at some point within it but not all the way through, and they end with movie credits and everything! lol

But I've wondered that too, Howie - I'm not sure if my mind just goes with the flow of events as they unfold, or if these epic dreams are prearranged in a way.

In my experiences, I want to say that they are not pre-thought out because sometimes pretty random events can happen during the dream, but I'm just speculating.

Credits? Are F^$*#ng with me?
wardrobe = burns
music = burns
directed = burns

It could be a lot like time. Not a constant. It seems to be able to be perceived in many ways.
It is just that I have had dreams that became somewhat technical in nature and I would discuss or think about an arrangement in the dream and ----there it is.
maybe it is improvising as the dream unfolds?

I've had a few dreams like that, they haven't really been movies though. They've just been really...as you said, "epic".

To some extent though, most of my dreams have like, things that "I" know, like, they were a given.

For example, I had a dream Saturday night, and in it, kids from my school were going to get into a huge fight. I knew there was gonna be one, and me in the dream seemed to know it was going to happen, but me...actual me, didn't know what was going to happen. (I wasn't lucid)

It was rather odd, it was like I was in on the story, yet, not so much at the same time. It was pretty odd.

I think that it's just your brain going out on a limb.

I think what you mean is that the brain seems to remember certain lengthy plots and scenarios and that you wonder how that is possible? Wouldn't it be plausible if the subconscious brain stores this information for continuous use during any dream (so we are not aware of it but the background info needed is stored somewhere in the brain anyway).

I once dreamt I was watching Pirates 2 and then got "sucked" into the film and lived through the film through almost every scene.
I've also had many dreams that were like LOTR.

that has come across my mind on more than 15 seperate occassions...and the only possible answer that i can give is that all of this is happening inside of your brain, therefore your brain holds the power to create this as well as plan it out before hand...but thats not what i believe, i believe that these 'visions' are created by your conscious mind when you are sleeping, but as it is one with your subconscious mind, the subconscious mind allows you to see it in visual form, leading to dreams...lucid dreams are when your realise that your dreaming and your conscious combines with your subconscious causing complete control over your mind... the intense and deep story lines are created by your unconscious mind to link the different parts of the dream together...that is why they appear to have unreal and possibly insane storylines.

I do not mean to keep butting head withy ou Xetrov. With all due respect, I find this theory hard to follow. I realize it has been suggested that our brains or subconscious store more information than we are currently giving it credit for. But dreams are often manifested by current events. To store info just for dreaming sake seems unlikely. ..To me.
It is possible.

You raise a good point pieman.
When our conscious mind awakens and we are now in a lucid dream, imagine all the improv that goes on. Your interactions verse the flowing dream scene.
