After not actively trying to lucid dream for about a month, last night I decided to try giving WILD a chance.
Usually when I try WILDing, I go into sleep paralysis, but then just sit there and eventually get bored and go to sleep normally.

However, this time I decided to try focusing my eyes inward as I've heard suggested before.
I've never done this before because focusing inward just crosses my eyes and gives me a headache.
But this time I decided I would stick with it and see what happened.

I closed my eyes, and after about 15 seconds of concentration (and headache), all the sudden I started feeling completely paralyzed and as if I was spinning and drifting around. Then the weird part came.

While still fully conscious, I began to feel my eyes moving back and forth rapidly. It felt really strange, and seemed like REM but I wasn't sleeping. My eyes began to water like crazy and I could feel it streaming down my cheeks. Eventually I thought it was too strange, sat up, and then went to sleep normally.

Can anyone that has used the WILD technique shed anymore light as to what was going on?
Was I WILDing? and were my eyes supposed to do that?

Thanks for any help you can offer,
      Matt

When I first began WILD'ing I had a similar experience in which I could feel my eyes moving back and forth but then I just woke up. I am not sure what it was but your experience sounds similar. The part about feeling like you were spinning or drifting around would indicate that you were in the initial stages of WILD. I often feel like a am spinning or slowly falling and this is usually accompanied by vibrations. I only had the experience with eye movement once, however, and it was not follwed by a lucid dream. Hope that helps.
