hello to all DV peeps. I'v been on this site many many times the past couple months. I read the intro many times thinking I understand it completely after every time, but for some reason I can never become lucid no matter how hard I try. I think I have plenty confidence in myself or else I wouldn't still be trying to accomplish this. I tell myself "I will wake from my dream and completely remember it, i will become lucid, i am dreaming" etc. but I have yet to become lucid and I realize I have trouble recalling my dreams as well. I remember parts of my dream but its always so confusing and changes frequently. So im still trying to find a way to overcome this.

About 2 weeks ago I picked up some melatonin after reading what you guys had to say about it. I started with 9mg a night, I admit I sleep deeper than I used to and my dreams are a bit more vivid, but no help in the lucid department. Yesterday I picked up a bottle of 100 pills of vitamin B-6 at 200 mg...after a little more research I realized I shoulda got the 50mg or 100mg but the 100mg bottle seemed so light like there was nothing in it(today I realized they are really small). So last night I tried one 200mg B-6 and 6mg of melatonin. Yes, I had a very deep sleep, but still didn't help with lucidity or help with recalling my dreams. I am going to try it tonight without the melatonin and see how it works.

What do you guys think my problem is? Could it be I am one of the few that CAN'T have lucid dreams? or could it be my method? I am aware that there is no drug that can help me with lucidity, but keep in mind I am still trying out different methods but im sure some of you can realize how frustrating it is after about 2 months of this.

      Any comments appreciated! Thanks

Almost everyone has to go through it, exept for the lucky ones. I didnīt achieve anything on my first year of trying to LD.. But I wasnīt to serious about it either. You should switch between different techniques and find the one that might suit you. I whould recomend WBTB for succeding the first time. And try it in different ways.
I succeded many time by just sleeping 6 h, being awake 15 min, and then some simple affirmations before I fall asleep again. Just tell your self that it is easy to LD, and that you will realise itīs a dream, and that you will do a RC.

You will have an LD some day. If you get to frustrated, just donīt bother about trying. take a break, and get back into it when you fel like it.

dang a year! I would be way too impatient for that lol

I read up on WILD and MILD, I was thinking about using the WILD technique but everytime I set my alarm to 5:00 am I just turn around and shut it off then go back to sleep lol. I'm interested in the WBTB technique if I could bother you for a good link

Are you keeping a dream journal? Are you doing any reality checks during the day? Those have been the two most helpful practices for me.
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.

I agree with JaphyR, I'm no expert (only 1 LD), but during the first 8 days since i joined DV, all I did was keep a DJ (even if I have to write "I didn't remember a thing") and do RCs whenever you think of it, don't do an RC because you think you have to, only do it if you remember to, eventually it becomes a habit.

Not trying so hard, but truely wanting it also seems to have helped, because the night I got my only LD, I wasn't even thinking about it too much... and I did a RC in my dream out of habit.

Do not get discouraged, you will have one, and maybe when you least expect it, as long as you keep your mind to it.
