      Hello everyone,

One of the things that I heard LD can be used for is to answer personal questions. The dilemma facing me right now is that I have just graduated and need to start a career, but I just don't know what I want to do with my life. I know that I want to do something positive and I know my skills, but I just don't know what field of work I want to get into. Is there some way to invoke a dream that will help me figure out what my calling is?

You could try meeting your subconscious or find a DC job consultant.
Sometimes, though, a suggestion will make perfect sense in the dream, but you later recognise it to be complete rubbish once you wake up.
We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. - Woodrow Wilson

Once in an LD, you can put yourself into any situation you wish. If you want to see what it is like being a surgeon or a musician or a bottle capper, there is nothing to stop you. In that way, you could "try on" different career choices to some degree.

Of course, the experiences can't be any more than an extension of what you already understand. You aren't going to learn anything new about the technical aspects, but you will find out how you FEEL doing different things. I've found that quite useful.

      Good question meltingmind.
      This is just my opinion.
First I personally don't think ALL dreams and ALL their content can be analyzed.
I do think that we have a great opportunity to learn from lucid dreams and non lucid dreams alike.
We (people) are always talking about gut feelings, emotion and such. Our dreams give us such a close perspective into those feelings. I believe that we are mingling with our subconscious.
Some don't believe in a subconscious, well call it what you will. But it is an altered state of mind. But it is an altered state of OUR minds, not derived from smoking weed or some other chemical other than the chemical makeup that ..makes up ourbrains. Our often vivid look into our dreams gives us a unique opportunity to decipher these emotions.

I think that in some ways a dream might guide you to the career you were meant for, but as mentioned before dreams are only an extension of what you already understand. That being the case, you are probably better off really inquiring consciously (be it awake or asleep) what field interests you most, and then going out in the real world and getting some experience to see if it suits you.

I agree with AnonymousTipster - subconsciously, if you know what you want to do, your dream might be able to tell you. Alternatively, it might talk rubbish at you, you may still have to consider what it says in daylight.
Made you look. Er, now do a reality check or something.

you could pray to God in a dream? Some people think that it is easier to reach Him there (I dont)
