Thread: which way's up ?

I hadnt experienced this until very recently, and was wondering if anyone else had ever done it.

Has anyone ever dreamed upside down ? Not as if you were upside down in your dream, but you were literally watching everything go on completely upside down. It happened four times last night, and I woke up thinking, "what the.. ?" And all of them were really scary.. One was in a room full of chains hanging from the ceiling, and this demented man/creature that looked like he came right out of a horror movie (except.. Id say a bit more frightening) was killing something.. and the other three were equally scary. One was only a flash, like a picture, but all of them were upside down. I could make out details and such.. just thought it was a bit strange.

That is odd. I have never expireanced anything like that. I think that would make me nauciuous. Messed up equilibrium.

What were you thinking about before you went to bed?

I'm just happy that I don't have dreams like that.....or don't remember them at least!

It has never happened before.. and I wasnt thinking of anything related to anything scary, but I usually dont when I have dreams like that. When I have bad dreams, they are very graphic and very horrible.. But these were odd in the fact that they were upside down, and it was more in flashes.. like it was on a reel, but it was very vivid. Will scare the bejebus out of you..

Were you lucid? Perhaps if it happens to you again and you are lucid you could make it right...

I think I knew I *was* dreaming, but I couldnt control a gosh darn thing. And I was a little terrified at the time, haha. And for some reason I was scared that homeboy was going to see me. I knew it was a dream, but he was still scary as crap !

Hmm, I had a false awakening after a WILD once where I was on the ceiling looking down on my room, everything upside down.

Your world is really been turned upside down!!!!

Just a thought. - I would think you would have already noticed if you had an ear infection. But if you have an ear infection it totally skrews up your equalibrium. You could possibly have a minor ear infection and because your senses are so acute while your dreaming that it comes out in your dream. (like your body is trying to tell you somthing.) Very unlikley, but just pulling strings trying to figure some reason for that to have happened.

Try walking up the wall and then it will be back to normal heh.

Equallibrium! Not your mental perception your visual perception. Now I have no idea wether that would carry over into dreams

Robyn that is very unusual and then for it to repeat itself over and over again. I think you may need to evaluate some things going on in your life. Do you feel out of control at all? Or feel unattached to something or someone. That may explain it. Just putting that out there =)

It just occurred to me...that it may be a nice reality check, to test yourself to see if you know which way is up, down, left, right, etc... Maybe it'll be hard to think about it in the dream, and that could be a conclusion to a reality test!

It hasnt happened since that I remember, but I know I dont have an ear infection, haha but good try though
As far as feeling unattached, I'm not sure. I dont know though.. I dont know if I did feel unattached that it would cause that. I was right in the action, haha, and I still remember it very very well. Come to think of it, everything was very close. Only upside down.. hmm..
