Topic: Please share in this thread what answer/s you got when you ask a dream character what they are, or what they represent in your dream.

Just to share a recent lucid dream I had.

I'll just describe a part of it for now:

I was with a dream character when suddenly I just knew it was a dream (it felt like a dream).

So I was wondering what this dream character represents to me.

He said, "I am your subconscious" or something to that effect I think.

Then I asked something to this effect, "What are you?"

He said he was my subconscious.

Then I asked,"Are you sure?" or "You sure?"

He affirmed it.

Then he turned into a bubble........and floated into the night
sky.....

Then I think I asked something like "Where are you going?"

The bubble became a distant moon (it looked smaller than the moon we would see in the night sky in the waking world).

Then he answered something like (if I don't recall wrongly) "I'll still be watching you"

Then I looked away. I was still lucid, and so I got down on my knees, closed my eyes, and recited "Namo Guan Yin Pusha" (paying homage to Guan Yin Bodhisatta).

When I opened my eyes and looked around, I noticed a temple in a valley.

Then I approached the temple...

(Anyone reading can give me some suggestions on what the moon represents in my dream? I believe the bubble represents transience and the illusory nature of all phenomena. But I am not sure I know what the moon represents in my dream. Thanks in advance.)

In a non-lucid dream I had (I think it is non-lucid. The memory is vague now), I asked a dream character why do I often dream of being in an army situation (where I am low-ranked and ordered/forced to do things I wouldn't otherwise do. I resent taking orders from unenlightened and domineering people who think they are superior to others).

The dream character answered me:"That is your self-image".
