I have been trying to have lucid dreams for about a month now and in that time I had limited success (about that later). However, yesterday I realized when is the perfect timing to do a WILD and how to do a WILD.

I tried the WILDing technique a couple of times and it never worked. I tried it before sleep, after 5, 6, 7 hours and it didnt work. I even havent achieved SP or HI. Yesterday, however, at about 5 p.m. I was very tired since I havent slept well at night. I had that feeling when the only thing you think about is your bed. So I decided to take a nap. I remembered reading here on DV about some people doing WILDs in their nap time so I decided to try it myself.

It went like this:
I was lying on my bed and started counting, but after 2 minutes i simply decided to stop it and continue without counting. In the next 4 minutes I somehow lost consciousness and dont remember SP or HI. Than i suddenly saw a large funny looking plasma TV with very crapy picture. But stranegly (i think that becouse of the WILD attempt) i still had enough consciousness to imideatly realise that this is a dream. I remember saying to myself: "Wait a minute, i just went to bed 5 minutes ago (it realy was exactly 5 minutes since i went to bed). This is a dream!" Then i woke up. I was excited (this was only my second lucid moment in my life, my first was 3 weeks ago) and becouse of it I realized that I CAN have lucid dreams since it now happened for the 2nd time that I became lucid and i knew that the first time it was not just coincidence. This is very important becouse it gave me the required confidence without which your chances to do a WILD are small. But still, this was some sort of "WILD induced DILD" and not a real WILD.

So, after I woke up I decided to try WILD again. For the first time I used my own technique combined with some things I discovered accidentaly 5 minutes before when trying to WILD. Here are the most important factors of my technique I used yesterday:

- I knew I CAN have lucid dreams (very important&#33

- I tried WILD very tired. I would fell asleep in 3 minutes if i havent tried it. WILD when you are very tired. It doesnt mather if you slept before or not.

- I was NOT trying hard to have LD... i just told myself something like "What will be, will be"

- I slept on my tummy (my normal sleeping position) and not on the back (I never sleep on my back)

- I was NOT counting my breaths. I always felt that counting makes me too awake to WILD. Instead I just concentrated on breathing and try to visualize it. I have a special visualization technique: I imagine universe full of stars. When i breathe in, the stars come near me, and when i breathe out, the stars go away. This works fine for me becouse I can totally concentrate just on this + it is in 3D so it stimulates my visualisation center.

With this technique i achieved 2 WILDs in 40 minutes complete with SP and HI (plus that WILD/DILD) . But since i am a LD begginer, i imideatly woke all three times since i got excited. Must work on attaining lucidity I guess smiley.gif

Oh and there is another thing... maybe it is better to try WILDing in the afternoon when you take a nap, becouse you have been fully awake for many hours by now and it might be easier to achieve lucidity than if in the morning when you are still al fuzzy from sleeping. One thing that surprised me was that it was 5 p.m. and i entered into REM phase 5 minutes after i went to bed. Quite fast i think. I wonder how long are those afternoon REM phases.

Final thought:
I hope this topic will help someone. And remember... even if you havent had LD yet, there is almost 100 % chance that you CAN have them. Believe that and you will have Lds in no time. Good luck wink.gif
