Thread: True Objective Of Reality Checks

Hi,

I routinely do reality checks throughout the day (nosehold and digital clock) but my question is, what thoughts should be going through my head when I do them. I've never had a lucid dream by reality checking, because the thought to do one never seems to occur in a dream.the 4 or 5 LD's i've had (didn't last for long) have been induced by flying or floating or other obvious things. I've actualy tried putting up small papers with Letters "LD RC" on the doorways in my house so as I do walk through I am reminded to check since I dream of my house quite often. But should I be asking myself, after I do the Reality check and it passes "Could this possibly be a dream, and look around for anything odd?" (because I know your supposed to conciously think and not let it become a reflex).

Also, one more thing, does anyone here during the day attempt to "put themselves back in the dream" by imagining they're in it and compare it with reality. I've tried that to see if I can maybe judge a difference of feeling between waking + dreaming, but can't tell yet.

Yea, you've pretty much got it already... just take a moment to look around you and question whether any of it would really happen. Just do it in your head - "Would I be eating a hamburger in real life? Hamburgers are things that you can eat, right? Right... but what about this cat... is it normal? Yes... it's my cat... I know it" .............etc.

Also do reality checks when anything slightly strange happens to you in real life, like it snowing, or bumping into someone in the street
