Hey, is it possible in a lucid dream to extend the time so that in one night of lucid dreaming lasts a year within the dream but in waking life you have only been asleep for about 7 hours. just wondering, it would be interesting to try. |

Yes and no. You can get the impression, that 1 year passed, but you won't have 1 year of play-time in the dream. |

thats ok but i was looking for actually 1 year of playtime, i suppose that it could be possible if you told yourself to slow time down in the dream but then speed up motion if you get what i mean |

It can't be done, since you would have to change your conscious perception of pretty much everything in the world. |

If you change your conscious perception of space and time, it will both change in real-life and the dreaming world, which would screw you totally. |

time is infinite in dreams, so i don't see how you could keep track of it...seconds, minutes and hours become meaningless |

The trick is, you got to realise that you're dreaming in the first place.
You got to be able to recognize it.
You got to be able to ask yourself, " Hey, man, is this a dream?"
There's been a few posts on this - try a search 'dreams that last a lifetime' was one I think. Basically yes - the brain works so fast when unencumbered by the body its quiet possible to have dreams that seem to last a lifetime. An example I gave on a previous post was that, say your cat scratches your toe whilst asleep - the brain, in several milliseconds can construct a whole story to explain this, where e.g. you go down to the water and then a crocodile leaps out and bites you. (This happened to me! |

Yes. You get the impression, that a lifetime passed, but you can't extend the time in total, that you walk around and do stuff. It's simply not possible, due to your conscious perception of time. |

How are you able to say that its not possible. I know there are some posts on the site in which people experienced year long lucid dreams. Now if this is true or not is questionable, but you really have no proof to say this isnt possible. |

Scientists once prooved, that dream time was just like life time. Dream time was said to be a bit faster, but however, I can't really back this up, so I guess I loos at that one. |
