true, maybe there could be things that are specifically designed to give you a for sure lucid dream at night only. |

Yea, people would just disappear into the LD world and never come out. Think the matrix |
|
I don't know if it is possible, but that I think wouldn't have the implications of the "anytime" machine, as people would be doing it in their sleep, and not just whenever the hell they want. I personally wouldn't use it consistently just because of the satisfaction I get when I induce an LD, though I would try it a few times. I don't see any such product though at this point in time getting mainstream though, just because of the fact that many people immediately tend to see LDing as cultish, or unnatural, and are scared of it because they are close-minded and haven't experienced it themselves. |

I don't think there would be too much of a problem of "escaping reality." For one, many kids ALREADY play video games mindlessly and that is really the same. Also, I dunno about you, but I enjoy things that happen in real life. |
|
I agree that video games can be escaping reality, but other than the super-hardcore gamer, most people don't play enough to truly escape reality. Also, though games are getting more immersive, an LD machine would be totally immersive + plus you make your game, so they would take the similar addiction to a whole nother level, and attract more crowds than games. |

Jeez yeh, I once saw a show on this, and the potential fora abuse. It is exactly like the matrix...people would never want to come out... |
