      the feeling of falling

i know a lot of people who experience this.. but what is it exactly??
why do we get the feeling that we're falling, then wake up?
does anyone have an answer to that?

I am thinking it could be related to sleep paralysis onset. I experience similar feelings in the early stages of WILD.

I know, I get that also. But I remember last year seeing someone post a thread on that. I cannot remember who, but someone in here knows exactly what that means. The thread is in here somewhere I just forgotten what the title was.

I was on the floor of my friend's room the other day, and just closed my eyes for a bit. I started getting very dim images of a baseball game. When I went to throw the ball, my arm completely spasmed and woke me up. My friend started laughing at me, and i felt like an idiot, because i half-knew that I was sleeping while I was playing baseball... it was so weird because it was like I wasn't paralyzed at all.

Yeah, I have that feeling accompanied by a spinning sensation.
The spinning is more powerful than the falling though.

I thought it was hypnogogic imagery, but I don't dream immediately after it.. so not sure.

I love the feeling of falling, almost as exhilerating as getting chased by the cops. thats great.

Its cool, a rush of adrenaline, but I hate it when I am trying to sleep and keep getting this feeling...its disturbing...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
