      Hello everyone,

After reading about LD for a while, i just had my second LD last night, the first one was when i was 19 years ago, when I was 10.

I will have to tell you what happened but just because i have a question about an incident that happened at the very end of the dream. please be patient.

I was going to sleep and still between the awake state and the sleeping one, and that is when i decided to focus and visulize a dream, all of a sudden i see the walls of my room and it is daylight, and even before i stand up from bed, i relaized that iw as dreaming.

i get up and i feel very light and move to otherside of my house to find all my friends there and decided to talk to them "respectfuly" since they are merely charecters in my dreams and not my friends. we have couple of laughs ( I still have not told them that i am aware of what's going on) but then they saw something in me and walked away in silence together.

I tried to follow, but one of them asked me to stay away for now and one little guy ( id ont know who) stopped me and put me to the ground and said that in order to talk to them, i need to sigh a contract now and be able to talk to them in 2 years time. I could not change my dream and everything started fading away.

that is when i used the spinning method. however, i was more like going on circles around and it lost track and woke up :-(

      1- why everybody left?
2- what's wrong with that little guy?
3- howcome the spinning method didnt work?

I have been trying for 2 weeks and finnally got a LD but i estimate it lasted 4 minutes.

Thanks in advance in welcoming me

      Hey and welcome to DV.

Noone can really tell you the answers to q.s 1+2. Dreams are very strange. Maybe your subconscious felt guilty about not telling them that you knew, so they walked away... I don't know. The same for the little guy. As for the spinning technique, well, it's your first time using it, so it'll take a while to get it perfected. Well done for actually remembering to use the technique, I'm usually to busy flying and stuff, meaning that my LDs aren't very clear.

      Congratulations again

As for "Perfecting the spin" it isn't as hard as it sounds, you just have to believe it will change your surroundings, then it will have a higher success rate. Also make sure if it seems like you woke up to do a reality check, false awakening may be a case to look out for.

The rubbing my hands together failed for me in my most recent lucid... but I think I missed the point. I completely believed that it would keep me in the dream, but instead of paying attention to the sensation I rubbed my hands together as if plotting and ignored what it felt like. For about three seconds I went three through the motions of devising a master plan, walking along, rubbing my hands together and licking my lips, as I dredged up what I had been planning to do as soon as I got a lucid. So I woke up.

I think the point of spinning is to make your subconscious work, keeping the dream going. Just making up your mind that everything is moving in a circle (without actually seeing it) probably won't work.
Ten years without a dream, now starting almost from scratch.

We're messing with our bodies on a very low level here - can we break them? What will it take to hurt ourselves?

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.
