this isn't good, within the past month, no LDs. I try all the methods but I wake up and think that I should have realised I was dreaming.
With my exams coming up I think LDs will help me relax and prepare for the next day but each day I wake up frustrated and tense. Hey I'm feeling tense all the time now.
Does anyone know anything that will help me out of this?

Try not to try to hard, not enough to make you frustrated in the mornings. It may just be that you are worried about the exam.

I suggest trying to take a break from it all together and focus on getting a good nights sleep. This helps me when I have writers block, or when I just need a new perspective on things. Leave it and come back to it.

Of course, this comes from my vast knowledge and experience of dry spells and Lucid Dreaming. (Which is very small.)

You and me both! Autosuggestion used to work just fine and then I just stopped even having regular dreams much less getting lucid! When I first started reading about this I had a bunch and then I finally got good control in my very last one. I was so excited and couldn't wait for the next one. I had all sorts of things planned...I haven't had a one since then . Anyone have any other easy suggestions?

I agree with White Shirou, you need a break, chill for like a week. Stress can be a major factor for not be able to become lucid because the mind is to focused on whats making you stressed. Try some relaxation methods for a week and try again, Also never try to hard.

I just resently gave lucid dreaming a month off, (still couldn't help my self when it just happened) after a while they stoped, then I started again and the night I started again I had one.

There has been a lot of discussion in different threads these past few months about dealing with dry spells. I wonder if the subject might warrant a new subsection?

Moonbeam and I have been talking about it for months, and a lot of others have brought it up as well - it is not an uncommon theme. I've gone from several LDs a week to one or two per month - and I WANT IT BACK!!!!

BillyBob has posted some very sensible stuff on the topic somewhere. Don't know where to find it at the moment.

Maybe the time of year has something to do with it? It's obvious that weather and environmental conditions would effect your ability to sleep, or your want to sleep at that. For example, when it's rainy and cold you just want to curl up and relax. When pollen is coating everything within site you pretty much just want to be able to breath again and it's harder to sleep. (Spring/Summer time in Georgia). So why can't this effect your ability to Lucid Dream as well?

Ah, just throwing out random ideas.

Thanks people your advice has been great help. I've decided to stop trying to LD for a week and already I am feeling better.
