Why Lucid Dreaming Is Totally Safe.

I've been seeing a lot of threads lately, asking the same thing: Is Lucid Dreaming dangerous? The answer is no. Lucid Dreaming is basically dreaming while you are aware of it. A little more simply, it means that when you're Lucid in a Dream, you're know you're dreaming. That's when you get the chance to control your dream. Hope I cleared this up. (also, some methods can interrupt your sleeping, which sometimes can get actually dangerous, but it's methods like CAT. Is WILD/WBTB interrupting your sleep in a dangerous way?)

Some people beleive that LD can cause you problems with telling reality from imagination. It think might be a problem if you have schizophrenia or are using a lot of drugs.

Otherwise I don't think there is much harm in it. It's a gift, and I believe there is a greater purpose for them, but what that purpose is I still don't know.

For people who have just started to get some lucid dreams, or become fanatical about dreams in general, you can start to have times when you think 'Was that a dream, or did that really happen?' It happened to me, but IMHO, you get used to it. It's not a permanent problem, just an adjusting to lucid dreams.

This one should be moved to the newbie section imo.[/b] Well, I hate to be a party pooper, but i_speel_good has only ventured an opinion. There needs to be some more research put into this. Yes, lucid dreaming in itself is 99% harmless, it is what you do in your LDs all the time and the blurring of reality Placebo mentioned that needs to be fleshed out as those are the area's that can cause problems for some that might not have a strong grip on reality.

The only time I've ever questioned whether or not it was reality or a dream (in reality) and really couldn't tell was when I was stoned off my ass. Long story short, if you don't already have mental problems, lucid dreaming is fine.

Am I the butterfly dreaming I am a man, or am I the man, dreaming I am a butterfly? And I of course must ask, why not both? ...and then some! (?)
