No chance! Let me tell you why this is irrelevant.
When you are awake, you KNOW you are awake. Sure, when you are in a dream, you will "know" you are awake. But there is a distinct feeling between dreaming and being awake. In an attempt to gain lucidity, you shouldn't think this way, because your mind tricks you when you are dreaming to believe you are actually awake. However, in regards to saving your life, you will absolutely know you are awake if you are in fact awake. And lastly, if you are definitely not sure, stick your finger through your hand.

I probably didn't make myself clear, I am a little spaced as of now.

That idea is absurd. I really don't think this would happen. It would be more like, you'd do an RC, which would most likely prove that you're awake, and then you'd bumble to the window, labourously open it, and then fall out of the window like a ton of bricks. I think you'd realize far before this that you were dreaming. It also feels differently to dream, as opposed to being awake.

Ataraxis, you are right on the money. Sometimes one can become lucid based only on this feeling. Your mind tricks you into thinking you are awake, but I don't think it will trick you into thinking you are dreaming.

Ah, that's the idea that I was trying to get across. In your dreams, you can be tricked to feel that it is so vivid, you must be awake. But when actually awake, you won't mistake it for being a dream. Me, personally, don't SOLELY rely on reality checks to know if I'm dreaming. Reality checks for me simply make it clear that I could be dreaming, then I usually just become aware of it because of the feeling of a dream.

Well, if there is anybody who's ever died from LDing before, I sure haven't seen them post about it here.[/b]
That's because they're dead

Sorry, I had to, it was a funny quote. The only way I can think of someone dying in a lucid dream is if something scared them and they had a heart attack. If they had a heart attack from a lucid dream they probably weren't long for this world anyway.

It's almost not possible...

Because unless you are some drugs, when you are really awake, your brain "just knows" reality.

The only time I've ever felt something like as if I was in a dream while actually being awake was when I was high, or sleep deprived for over 50 hours.

I agree with some people: your brain often tricks you into thinking your dream is reality... but not the other way around.

Ok, everyone's been saying it's impossible to happen, but have you never questioned if you were dreaming while being awake? Isn't it what gets you to lucid dream in the first place? What if, training your RCs, your clock would have some bug? I think it's possible you'd think you were in a dream for some time! It would be possible to me... But maybe I'm just too dreamy...

PS - I don't do drugs...

If someone is very much into lucid dreaming, and they use drugs, then this can happen.

I know. I am one to occasionally use Psychedelic Drugs.
Therefor if I feel generally "Strange" I conclude: I'm either Tripping or Dreaming.
Now alot of inexplainable surreal things can happen to you on Mushrooms and on DMT for instance. But you CAN'T stick your hand through a wall or do any Reality check while trippin in real life and watch that RC, whatever it is, prove to you that you're dreaming.

And another thing. The Hallucinogen I'm most experienced with are Magic Mushrooms. No matter how "Far away" I sometimes am on these mushrooms I never quite loose reality and the sense of that everything around me is VERY real. It is a strange Dreamy state of Mind that resembles hyperrealism as seen in Dreams, yet my Mind is incredibly sharp actually on Mushrooms so I am actually MUCH more aware of my surrounding reality.

I don't think you could trip out, believe your dreaming and hurt yourself this way unless off course you administer yourself Rediculously high doses of psychedelic Drugs. These drugs, allthough physically harmless or close to harmless, are not to be underestimated mentally.

But no. Only if you take TERRIFYING amounts of Psychedelics or have a background of serious Psychological probblems I find the Idea that someone will mistake Reality for a Dream VERY unlikely. In fact it is most often times the other way around. We always assume everything we experience is real; both Dreams and waking life.

And as I see it; my dreams aren't any less real then any other Life-experience. I only fly when I can hoover off of the surface to begin with. I'd never jump out of a window or from something high.

I would not mistake the real world, for a dream world.
There is a distinct feeling about being in a dream. One of the way's
I do reality check's is to reach out with my thought's, and try and
feel my enviornment with my mind.

The dream world has a far more vivid, and magical feeling to it.
(At least it does to me)

Did you read what we had posted? So when doing reality checks as an induction method, it is a bad habit to think, while doing them in real life, "I'm just practicing for when I'm in a dream," because you will certainly say the same thing when you are in fact in a dream. You have to truly question it.

HOWEVER,
You in fact are solely practicing for when you are in a dream. And AS WE'VE ALL SAID, multiple times, your body can trick you into thinking you are awake while dreaming, but cannot trick you into thinking you are dreaming while awake. Sure, I suppose if you are a fucking retard, and will jump out a window instantly because your watch does a little freak out, then I suppose it's "dangerous." But you have to be really, really stupid.

As soon as I've realised I'm dreaming I see how stupid i was not to have noticed it. There is something in my LDs at least that makes me entirely sure I'm dreaming. Even when strange things happen in real life I know that I'm just kidding myself if I tell myself it could be a dream.
