Trying to Wake Up from Paralysis

Recently, I actually willed myself to snap out of paralysis. It was scary and exciting at the same time.

In the middle of a sleep session, right after waking up from a dream, I contemplated the dream for a few minutes. The next thing I know, I want to change my sleeping position, but I find out that most of my body has paralysis. The only things that can move are my toes, eyes, and lungs. I try to scream "Somebody wake me up!" and I heard it in a distorted kinda way, but nobody probably heard me. I eventually moved my toes very much to the point that I woke up other muscles and willed myself out.

I actually regretted doing this, cuz it was difficult to deliberately go back to paralysis. Cuz noticing I'm in paralysis is the best time to hold on to my consciousness while falling asleep, to induce an LD...

i think its normal to try and get out of something that has you *locked* (i mean... you want to think that you can move) or maybe you were just kinda drowsy and forgot about Ld's and stuff... and during sleep paralysis you can have waking dreams, so you probably weren't thinking entirely straight (i know i didnt in my past LD's)

Cool. Next time you'll want to take advantage of it huh? It's not dangerous, but can be freaky the first few times you experience it.

True, it is this feeling that you are trapped that makes you want to snap out of it, whether its from sleep paralisis, or not being able to wake up. This irracional fear sometimes overcomes logic and makes us want to exit it, even thought we might later regret missing the opportunity...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

What would freak me out in that situation is thinking that:

      A. That is what lies after death
      B. I will never snap out of it
C.The first couple minutes where I realize I am impotent toward the problem
D.Thinking my life is ending one minute at a time(if I am not dead) and I can't even try and make the best of it(except constructing thoughts and ideas that might never be heard...)
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

I've experienced the phenomena of sleep paralysis ever since as a kid. I remember, I'd often wake up in the middle of the night, with eyes half open and a slight consciousness, feeling freaked out. I'd usually feel like I'm under my bedsheets suffocating...Each time, I thought I would die, and gave in to the "scary" force...I must've thought I would die like a 100 times in my life! And each time, I'd still get scared.

I'll remember to use that as a gateway to LD's next time.
