Hey, i've noticed in my dreams that i seem to have a sort of delayed awareness to a certain degree, i seem to be aware in my dream, not enough to become lucid but i seem to only realise whats happened a few seconds after but i don't get chance to think about it because i have to keep up to date with the next few seconds of the dream, if that made any sense at all to any of you could you help me understand why this happens?

I think I understand what you're saying, but I'm not sure.
If you mean that you can kind of predict the future in your dream, then yeah, I understand it , it happens to me too.
I think the reason is that we don't really PREDICT what's going to happen , we kind of MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Whatever you expect to happen in your dream, it happens , so you would know what's going to happen in about 2, 3 seconds because you EXPECTED it.
Something like that , if you know what I mean.

Do you mean for example if you're reading something, you suddenly notice you haven't been paying to attention to anything you just read? Yeah, completely normal. Just keep bringing your attention back, eventually it should stay there.

I think what he means is:

He can be in a dream and be aware he's dreaming, then an event will happen but he doesn't become consciously aware/lucid about what happened till a few seconds after. But then something else starts happening so its to late to do anything about it.

(Example: Hes dreaming: Hes semi-aware hes in a dream. But the dream continues as normal, lets say he takes 5 steps down th street and then after realizes what just happened but he cant control it because hes already on to normally dreaming again.)

I think you just need to practice more basics of LDing and research the dream control section!

Good luck

Hrm. I think I sort of get what you're saying, let me make sure. So it's like: You take five steps, without realizing you just took five steps. Then you are aware you took those steps, but only after it happened? If that's it, some of my dreams are like that too. I think maybe you aren't "grounded" in the dream enough. Like you are just watching it happen, like a movie, but aren't really paying attention.
