Yes - I am halfway through a 2nd draft. Also intend to try and make it as well... At the moment its supernatural thriller/ horror, but may end up cutting back on the horror.

I hadn't heard the 'dweller on the threshold' name. Interesting. I'm assuming its an illusion - but for the purpose of the film it'll ambiguous.
As for a Succubus, you will only likely encounter one of those on the astral plane, (OBE) but I highly, HIGHLY advise against that. Make sure you know all of the information on a succubus before you go looking for one, because they can be quite harmful to your health and your mind.
Thanks for the warning! I'm skeptical but open-minded, and I have experienced things that sem to defy rational explanation.
I've done stacks of research on succubi in general and Lillith (the mother of demons) in particular. But I think the danger is overplayed - as in the 'evil' is part of a demonisation of the feminine by the patriarchal religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
I have read lots of accounts of the 'old hag' but will ideally be writing from first hand experience.

• Get in a comfortable position. Laying down, sitting upright, whatever's comfortable.
• Don't move. Close your eyes, and breath deeply, using rhythms if necessary.
• Keep your mind clear of thoughts for a while. Focus on one thing such as your breath rhythm.
• Try to focus on parts of your body. Making them relax. Trying to make them feel tingly. By doing so you are moving your center of awareness to different parts of your body, which moves etheric energy through your body, causing your body to feel numb. After a while you will notice that you can't move, but you feel as though you have a different body that you can almost move, at which point you are on the verge of an OBE, thus sleep paralysis.
It's different for different people but I'd say on average this probably takes about 30-45 minutes max. You could dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes by using binaural beats. Look them up on google. There are programs such as the Brainwave generator (bwgen) that will play binaural sound beats through headphones. Using binaural beats it takes about 10-15 minutes to achieve paralysis.
I think thats the way. I suppose what I'm doing 'wrong' is that I don't monitor my body diuring WILDs - but instead focus on the emerging dreamscape, which for me is primarily a visual experience. Perhpas if I just focus on my body?
I will try the binaural beats thing to - never have to date - but it does sound fascinating.
As for the dweller on the threshold, generally you don't see it everytime. I have done this many times and only seen it once, and it's quite nerveracking. But I have never heard of encountering the "hag" in SP. Usually you only encounter it during an OBE attempt, at least from what I've heard.
I always assumed it was an SP/FA illusion, that mainly occurs in the middle of the night or upon awakening. But perhaps by going the OBE/AP route...

SP as you know, can manifest as vibrations or waves - I've had experieeces where this felt like pressure on my crotch (incubus/succubus) and also I've felt like I've been "pressed" into the bed, and slight pressure and constriction on my throat. It's easy to see how a medieval person might attribute this to a malign entity lying on top of them. I did momentarily, I felt a sense of dread as is often experienced in SP, but I believe that only arises becuase it is an alien experience. Just relax through it.
In short, if you really want to experience the hag/incubus/succubus, all you have to do is follow the steps for WILD. There will come a point where you can literally feel something pressing down on your body. That is SP.
Good luck, and don't be afraid, it's just your body falling asleep.
Thanks. I suppose the 'dread' will be difficult to attain - as I have such a strong belief structure that the effect is an artifact of SP etc... But this is also the juicy bit! We'll see!
Question: 'normally' its succubi for men, inccubi for women. Does this depend on your sexuality???
Thanks all. Will post the results.
