Thread: Something strange while trying to WILD

Okay...I'm lying in bed attempting to wild...I'm relaxing breathing slow, and trying to picture myself meeting with a DC from last night (some hot little blonde girl) I'm picturing exactly how it looked in my dream. My body starts going numb....and I don't feel anything. I start to see flashes of white light, and suddenly it feels like my body is rocking back and forth like i'm in the water. Then all of a sudden i hear a motorcycle outside (this fing retard rides his dirt bike every freaking sunday around our house) And i try to get back focused. Still feeling numb and everything I tell myself that I'm going to fall asleep regardless.

I hear the dirt bike go by several times...but I'm still thinking about meeting up with that girl...finally I hear the TV turn on in the living room, because my dad decide it's a good time to watch basketball. I try to relax still....and after a while I give up and decide to open my eyes.

When I do...I look at the wall and see strange circles on the wall...almost like runic...I've done this before right after SP when waking up...and I have no idea what the hell it is. Sometimes it looks like writing or something...but i'll come to focus and it's gone...anyone have any thoughts on what this is? It's only happened about 3 times in my life and everytime it's when I just wake up..but my eyes aren't fully open. And this is the only time it's happened when I didn't have SP.

Sounds like hypnogogic imagery to me, it means you getting closer.

I've been try to WILD for a few days myself but for some reason i'll either get itchy, my heartrate will shoot up, or my mouth will go really dry and i'll have to lick my lips which messes with your SP.

Keep trying man, like most things in life this will probably require a lot of practice, for both of us.

No idea about the runes on the wall, probably hypnagogic imagery superposed to your real-world sight.
About the motorcycle, and TV: were they real and did you still hear them after ? Be aware that hypnagogic sounds may be very similar to the real word ones. Many times when doing WILDs, and just entering the "interesting phase", I heard people call me, neighbours banging on the wall, or my radio turning on, thinking "Oh no, not now !" but that was just HS; so do NOT give up to answer the phone if it's ringing, it's probably a trap !
And finally, the "body in water" sensation : you were very close; it's exactly what I have in the transition when entering the proper LD from a WILD. Just observe it, let your "body" move (don't be afraid if you feel like falling from your bed, like the HS it's not real). For me, it lasts maybe 10 seconds, then I see my dream bedroom, and bam! I'm in the LD.

"hypnogogic imagery" thats a new one...but that probably explains it. It's good to know that theres a reason for all of this stuff...instead of crap like "the devil is riding my back" or someone has me hexed or something. but yeah...i'm going to try again tonight...and then after I wake up and type in my dream journal if it doesnt happen. thanks alot guys =). oh and about the HS...I guess they were real...like every sunday that guy rides his bike around and theres a TV on in this house 24-7. Oh about the HS...yeah I remember during my last LD (wich happened right after SP) I still heard everyone in the living room talking. Will that always happen? or can i tune that out in the dream? Like use a command like "silence" or something?

I think those circles were hypnagogic hallucinations.
