      RC's

I seem to have a problem with them. I do the clock-check and text reading check every single day maybe about 10 times each. The problem is, I can't get myself to perform them in dreams. Every night I have extremely vivid dreams that I always remember, yet I cannot bring myself to perform a reality check within them. Any help or suggestions?

Well I think you have to do RC's consistently for a while before they transfer into your dreams. How long have you been at it? I might also suggest doing a different one, and maybe just focusing on one. I do the holding your nose and breathing RC.

You might also look through your dreams and see if you dream of a particular setting very often. For instance, if you happen to dream about being in your room fairly often, then in waking life I would do extra RCs there.

You have to identify your dreamsigns and when you see one you perform a RC and if it fails you're dreaming.. Some help here http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=1518

Well I've been doing this one here for about 4 days now. I'm thinking of going to 2 weeks and if there's no progress made, I'll just switch to another method. Also, I tried the holding nose check and that didn't work for me.

I think I was doing my favorite RC (the breathe through your nose whilst it's plugged one) for at least a month before it transferred into my dreams, but now it helps me become lucid around once a night. So I wouldn't let it put you off that it hasn't started to work yet - just keep at it.

I think this may work, but the problem is, about 1/2 of the dreams I have are either at school or outside in the woods. Since I have to leave school soon, I won't be able to do a lot there. Also, I don't really go out into the woods a lot so that's a no there too.

Doing an RC sometimes isn't enough. Stop a few times a day, look around and try to really wonder if you're dreaming. Think like "well, I think I'm awake but then again, that's what I think when I'm dreaming" and then really analyse everything around you. Then do the RC. When I was focused on doing this I would get a lot more LDs.

My dreams were very often set in school too but I started practicing lucid dreaming in the summer. So here's what I did: I just told myself before going to bed each night that if I found myself at school, I would do a reality check. It's simple but can really work!

Well...I'm gonna have to break this down for you. Have you, as in yourself, not your dreaming self, but you as in your waking life ever made a dree-em jur-nal?

No, but most nights I recall my dreams and they stay in my head. Not with dates, of course, but they're there. And sometimes, in really rare ocasions, I dream I'm at school. But that's pretty much it...

You know I would really recommend keeping a dream journal, at least as an experiment for say... a week? I think you might be surprised at the patterns you find. Also, like someone on here said, it would make for some VERY interesting reading some day!

It is extremely interesting to read some of your previous dreams.

I find them both boring to write and boring to read... :p

Hey Bro i too suffer from this, i have been at it for about 2 months (heavy reality checks) and they still wont drop into my dreams, however theres always something that gives me a peek into like 1 year from now (maybe) when ill do them in my dreams every night. Ya know i too waas gonna post this problem up. My Q however is (to the more experienced Oneironauts) how long it should take on average to have RCs in dreams every night....
the only way i've become lucid is by WBTB methods and im sick of them so yeah u get the picture

That totally varies from person to person. When I first started to LD, I think it took me... a month-ish for RCs to transfer into my dreams.

Hmmm. OK, that sounds alright. One thing that happened to me once was that I had been doing reality checks for about 3 days, I had a WILD and BOOM. It transferred into an LD.

Yeah I know. Same thing happens here. I'll look at a clock but reality checks don't even come into my mind.

I think it might just take longer for us....i mean the guy that told me about LDs 5 months ago hasn't even had his first one! its sad to think he told me about them and i learned faster but when it comes to DILDs (which is like the first method of LDs is the hardest for me
