Failed Rality Check, in a Dream!

Last night i had a dream where i was walking down a sidewalk with a long park on the left. There was a series of middle-aged women sitting on or standing near benches equally spaced along the sidewalk. The first woman started yelling at me in a distasteful tone, which eventually got all the other women yelling too. I turned a corner which was beside a hedge, but gave them the finger before they were out of my view.

Suddenly, these strange women seemed unusual, and i questioned the reality which i was in, and i wondered if i was in a dream. I actually convinced myself that i was in reality! I became completely sure i was living in the real world. How will i ever be able to trigger lucidity within a dream if i think its real?

Did you actually check to see if you were dreaming, or just wonder it? If you're not already, you should be regularly performing reality checks, things that behave one way while awake, and behave completely differently while dreaming. The idea is to get in the habit of doing one or more many times a day, so that the habit carrys into dreams, and when you do wonder if you're dreaming, you remember to check. Read this tutorial about reality checks, and I reccomend checks 1 and 11 on that list, since they tend to be the most reliable for the most people, as well as being fairly easy to perform unobtrusively on a regular basis.
