      Lucidity: a dream coming true

this is just a small biography, which I belive to be applicable to many, many people here at DV

--- may sound boring and long, but I advise everyone to read, especially if you need motivation

Dreams have always carried a symbolistic meaning. Far from being understood, throughout our childhood a dream would define our moods and make us wonder about reality. Dream are a natural and weird thing that happens to us every night.

As we grew a bit older, dreams began to carry a surreal meaning: future omens, subconscious messages, the inner of one's mind. Dreams become more obscure with time (and hormones).

Dreams are vastly present at popular culture. Dream interpretations and signs, nightmares, recurring dreams and all that is usually associated with dreaming. They make us think again about the limitless reality of dreams: a world were no law applies.

Through our lives we dream of being able to do something impossible: to do the undoable, at least once in life. Flying, fighting, making the world explode.. We dream high. We dream of the possibility of something imaginary, we imagine we are heroes.

We learn how everything we imagine is possible in the very dreams we have at night: a place were we are the gods and none but our rules apply. A place where the impossible can happen. If only we could control it....

As we grow up more and more, dreams may lose their meaning: the constant worries concerning personal life can make us forget of the imaginative mind we once had. We cease to remember our dreams, and forgotten they don't mean anything to us anymore. Dreamingis just a childish escape and you don't have time to waste in such an unconscious thing.

If only we could control dreams...

Everyone has already thought about his/her own mind: how it works, what it is capable of, and many other things. Usually we think of our own mind as a home, a shelter nobody can access, but us. A place that can have the size we want and the form we want, a place where we run to. If only we could explore the depths of our minds in a realistic ride, learning even the darkest secrets it hides..

Then come the breaking news. There is a place where all that you want may happen! There is a way to achieve even the highest dreams and do everything you've ever dreamt of! There is a way to be inside your own mind and manipulate it as far as you want! You can control your dreams!

When we learn of lucid dreaming, we reopen a door that had long been locked: the door of dreams. We learn that everything we want to do is possible if we learn how to be lucid in our dreams. And hence we decide to learn it, no matter what or how long it takes.

That's when the mind run starts. Not everyone knows it, but learning to control your dreams is learning to control yourself: every chalenge we face is something we were bad at. Memory, self awareness, self control, visual memory, consciousness, drowsyness, tiredness, daily routines. Each and every limitation of ours is put in check. Through our will to control our dreams we can enhance even the unthinkable aspects of our minds, with a good objective. We change our beliefs and learn to deal with the unexpected and the illogical. We learn to persist and to do our best. We learn to actually be happy when we go to bed, instead of being stressed because of all the appointments you have for the day after.

Lucid dreams are like the best video-game ever, which costs no power, is free, fun, you can do everything you want, in how many dimensions you want, in whatever size and colour you want. And again, lucid dreaming is like a video-game: once you learn how to play it, it becomes easy and everyday more enjoyable.

And when we take notice of ourselves, we can do a thing we had never judged possible before: we can control our dreams. This is far more than any normal person can or ever will be able to do. Lucidity makes dreams come true. Knowing how to attain lucidity is somethign that sepparates the boys from the men. (or the girls from the women, for the beautiful ladies we have here)

Just some considerations of my own about lucidity. Each and every imagined dream of yours can come true, and all you have to do is to learn something easy and pleasant, which is lucid dreaming.

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

      Lovely. Very well put.

Today I managed to persuade my very intelligent best friend to join me in lucid dreaming so he is coming here. I will hopefully show him this post.
He had an LD when he was young and I got him back into it.

Sounds like a manifesto. You should put this on your blog somewhere. Good stuff.
