      Overwhelming urges

Last night I had a dream. I've never had one quite like it before, I don't want to retell it, but I will say that someone died that shouldn't have. There was no need for it, and they by absolutely no means deserved it, but it happened. I don't even know this being or anything.

I had an enormous urge, the strongest i've ever felt in either world. I wanted to kill someone. I needed to kill this person. The one who caused this innocent person to die. I wanted to kill them in the worst, most horrible and painful way possible. I was so full of rage I would have given almost anything to get back in there and slowly pick this person apart: piece-by-excruciatingly-painful-piece. I would have taken great pleasure and had much satisfaction in doing it.

It was a very strange experience, since it had never happened to me before, I thought i'd tell you guys about it.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

Well I'd say it's just a natural subconcious emotion surfacing during your dream. I'd say it means nothing in accordance to your real personality. In another way, it might represent your strong feelings towards justice, and also your love for someone.

I've had overhwhelming feelings of love in a dream...so I can try to identify with your overwhelming sense of hate!

Must've been excruciating to feel that. A total lust for revenge, kinda? Or maybe it's because you like Dante so much?

      Grrrr!!!!!!

Yeah, I can sympathize with you. I've felt that way in real life recently. An overwhelming urge to kill someone, slowly, over the course of a couple of weeks.

      Man, was I ashamed.

Guess that is what makes you civilized, you can have these urges, but choose not to follow them!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Reminds of a dream I had a week ago (non-ld of course). I was in my front room fighting my brother for no apparant reason. I was blind with rage, but I didnt want to kill him, I just wanted to kick his ass. He ran up the stairs, and I threw a piano at him. Then he ran down and I trapped him in the corner. We both had meter sticks and I was trying to hit him with it, then I broke the fish tank right next to us, causing the water to fall out and both of us toppling over on top of eachother. Then we got back up and we were at the intersection, on the sidewalk, that is near my house. Then we both exhanged our apologies and the "what the hell just happened?" feeling, and my urge to kick his ass shut down. weird huh?

well we all know that when ur dreaming ur mind can recreate emotions, and maybe sometimes it overdoes it?

I would have done it. I'm not ashamed of it though. Being human, you've gotta give yourself an inch of leway in your thoughts every now and then. But, those feelings kinda dulled down since some time passed, so it's good now.

It was a wierd experience though.

i get that a lot in dreams for some reason... i'm never "fairly indifferent" or "somewhat pissed" ... it's always an extreme of an emotion. i love someone or i hate their guts... i think it's entertaining to say the least because in real life i tend to be middle of the road and indifferent to people. just sit back and enjoy the ride.

This particular statement made me think. Perhaps it could have been the opposite of this what gave you this urge. Your primal and uncivilized desires, you id, if you will. We barely ever get to excersize these in the waking world, so I guess sometimes our insticts are shown in the dream life...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Whats worrying me is that occasionally I sort of get the same thing but while i'm awake.. I have this strange twitchy thing sometimes, doesnt happen often its hard to explain but uh... its when i'm imagining something... its not like normal but i'm more 'into' it.. (and I re-create the sounds and move my fingers... Its pretty embarrasing but I never do it in public - the imaginations are usually action-orientated) and when I realize after a split seccond i'm like wtf I dont want to think those horrible things.
