The Little Devil on the Shoulder

How do u get rid of negativity??? i have been struggling with this little satan telling me that my RCs will never drop into my dreams and that i dont meditate enough or the right way. Have any of you guys bettled this little devil on your shoulder? How can i convince myself that im on the right track?? i have battled and won this before when i had my first LD but the things i did to get rid of him dont work now! how do i get rid of negativity?

I had this during my long dryspell before my fourth lucid and it really did get to me but i've learnt that i know i try my best and i shouldn't have any negative thoughts and if i do i should just ignore them. These negative thoughts are just based on past failures, a good way to tackle them is by concentrating on your sucesses, for me i just told myself "i've had lucid dreams in the past, i know i'm capable" just concentrate on the positive things that have happened from lucid dreaming. I have negative thoughts at times, in fact i have them alot of the time, however i don't take much notice of them since i know that i can achieve lucidity, its happened before, just use this method but apply your problem to it, it may work out, just think positively.

Lucid Seeker's got some good advice there. Stay positive about this. If that little devil pops up again and tries to derail your positivity tell him Vex Kitten said, "Piss off."

wow thANKS for the advice guys, yeah im actually telling it to piss off thanks Lseeker No probs, anytime, just keep them positive thoughts, focus on whats good, if you find yourself drifting to negative thoughts, just think "screw that!" and watch it melt away as your positive thoughts deliver a powerful blow. Your better than it so just show these negative thoughts who's boss, because there only thoughts after all, not facts.

That reminds me of a Family Guy episode, where the angel gets stuck in traffic, so there's only the devil. At the end, he just tells the devil to go to hell and flicks him away. Of course, it's not a real devil, you can't just flick it away. But they are your thoughts, your feelings. Kind of the same idea as dream control. In a LD, you remind yourself it's your mind, your dream, you can usually control it. So remind yourself that this is your mind, your thoughts... it could work! Why don't you go find a positive lucid experience thread? Looking at other people talk about their success could inspire you and your SC.

That reminds me of a Family Guy episode, where the angel gets stuck in traffic, so there's only the devil. At the end, he just tells the devil to go to hell and flicks him away. Of course, it's not a real devil, you can't just flick it away. But they are your thoughts, your feelings. Kind of the same idea as dream control. In a LD, you remind yourself it's your mind, your dream, you can usually control it. So remind yourself that this is your mind, your thoughts... it could work! The negative ego sucks! Just see the "little devil" for what it is! It's there just trying to make you fail, so why should you hear it?! Without atention, it will eventually shut up! LOL

Thats insane. Ive never had anything on my shoulder in a dream let alone a little devil. Ive no idea what to suggest but if it was me in a similar situation id bite his head off. Pick him up and eat him or kick him away like a football or something like that. I had a cat clinging onto me with its claws one day but it was only becuase I was half lucid. When I realized i was dreaming I picked it up and kicked it away. Im not cruel to animals in reality but it was fuckin hilarious kicking it away in the dream.
