      WILDs and dream recall

      Hey.

I've been really busy lately and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. I just don't have time to attempt serious dream recall or reality checks or any other methods that help with LD induction.

So my question is simple: How much of a NECESSITY is good dream recall, dream journaling, doing reality checks, etc. in relation to having a successful WILD? Common sense would suggest you don't need to have any of these things to have a WILD, but it seems that many people say you do. So what's the actual answer anyway?

      Thanks!

well all of those things are good to do, most are not neccesarry.

reality checks: when you WILD you really only use reality checks when checking to see if you made it into the dream. So you dont really need to do them in the day.

Dream recall: It depends how long your WILD is. WILDs (mine anyway) by nature are much easier to recall compared to DILDs. You dont have that lapse of unconsiousness that makes your brain woosy. If its just a short to medium length WILD then its generally not hard to recall the dream. However if you end up having a really long WILD, and you havent been practicing dream recall, then you might start forgetting some parts.

Dream Jornals: there are 2 reasons for a dream jornal. 1. to help dream recall. 2. to keep for memories so if you dont think you need good dream recall, and you dont really car to remember the WILD in the future, then dont worry about dream jornaling.

it really doesnt take much time to do these simple tasks, and they help with DILDs alot. So if you are going for more lucid dreams in general, (most people are) then make time to do reality checks, practice recall, and have a dream jornal. Its really not that hard, and it helps loads in the end.
      Total lucid dreams=88

I think they are both nessesary, unless you're a natural born LDer.

Instead of writing down an entire dream in your journal just jot down the significant points of the dream, it only takes a few seconds or minutes in the morning. When you have more time you can go back and flesh out that particular dream if you want.
And RCing only takes a couple of seconds, depending on which you choose. In reality these activities don't take up much time at all. It does takes a while to get into the habit of doing them consistently though.
