Hrm, something either, when I was a child I had a dream:

I was in a small town and went to public toilet, I saw this old couple, I said hello to them and found out they were ghosts. They then said they were going to eat me.

      Or:

When I was young, I had a Mars Attacks dream where I was being chased by one of the aliens on a boat.

When I was about 4 or 5 I had a dream where I was playing in the front yard and this huge beastly werewolf popped out and smacked me to the ground and it hurt I got back up and ran. That entire dream was spent running from the werewolf who would always seem to find me no matter where I hid. Oh and he used a chain as a weapon that's what he hit me to the ground with the first time. That has to be my worst nightmare.

      My worst nightmare

God, these are all creepy. The worst nightmare I've ever had occured just a little while ago. That day I had seen a tv show about a mad scientist plotting to turned people into half-robot slave things. (Real original, right?) The show was actually pretty boring. He never actually got around to finnishing his plans. That night, I dreamt that me and my best friend (a DC, I never knew him in real life) won a trip on a luxury cruise ship after entering a contest. So we went, partied on the boat etc., and then we split up to do different things. At this point, I found a door that said DO NOT ENTER in big block letters. Of course I just had to go in. It led to another part of the ship, lit only be bare, flickering lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. As I walked down the hall, I came to one af those big standing freezers with the lid on top. Curious, I slowly lifted it up. I nearly threw up. Inside was a mass of hacked and mangled flesh, bodies in various states of decay. And worst, sitting on top was a body with all it's limbs torn off, with a face frozen in a scream, starring up at me. At this point I realized the scientist from the movie was on the ship, and I was looking at failed experiments. Then, I heard the shrill sound of a powersaw being started up. I turned, and saw a door with an opaque glass window (Just enough visibility to see shadows cast on it). To my horror, there was the doctor, his head thrown back in an insane laugh, saw in hand. Then, he thrust the saw downward, of my range of vision, and I heard the worst scream of pain and horror I've ever experienced. It was my friend.

I woke up and didn't sleep for three days.

My most recent scariest dream had to be...(I wasn't lucid)

      Part 1
      - I was being driven somewhere and it seems like there was a crisis going on in the world because Soldiers were guarding the streets and we had drove past a tank that was idle. Next thing I know it shoots at us and I'm yelling at whoever is driving to hurry, I get back home and turn on the news and they say "Our country has betrayed us" and it's showing footage of soldiers hijacking a merchant ship. What do you know the boat is right across the street from me. - (End)

Mind you I thought this WHOLE thing was real and I was rather scared because I thought I'd have to defend myself and fight to the death. I couldn't find my family or nothing so I didn't know if they were alive. When I actually woke up at first I thought I was dead (I ended up getting shot in the dream) but then I realized it was a dream when I woke up and I was SHOCKED.

      Part 2
But it wasn't the first time that happened, the same thing happened but this time it was the Air force attacking the city missles hitting everywhere. (Once again I thought it was real)

Now tell me here you are in open ground and your city is under attack buildings are getting fired on, where do you go? I was scared I ran in one building the people said we need to leave because it's going down. I end up running home and hiding in a house that was a mixture of my old and new house. Hearing those jets fly by scared me because I didn't know when we'd get blown up. I remember yelling to this girl to get bed sheets to cover the windows that way the soldiers don't highlight us with lasers to help the air force target us. I looked out the window and seen another family get blown up. The whole dream I stayed in the house waiting for our turn to die, and then I realize...It was a DREAM!

      Runner up Dream

I really don't know whether this was scarier than the dream above but this one is up there. This one wasn't as long as the above.

Setting is unknown but were in a village like area learning the culture and not knowing were in a "War zone". It was some middle eastern place, were I guess tourists. (Me and my 3 friends) We say goodbye to the villagers and then walk down this modern road which is on a block that seems to stretch a mile before it has a turn, were on the corner getting ready to go down that block...

...we see 5-6 middle eastern men and we great them. Everything is great right? Wrong! in a matter of 30 seconds a black hawk comes telling us the get the hell out of there. I look down the block and realize I see a sniper shooting down a block and his partner. When I look at the 5-6 guys there "insurgents", were getting shot at by them and we turn the corner. An to our surprise a group of 6 men open fire like a firing squad and hit the guy infront of me, I then got hit and feel hard on the floor and just stood there dieing. I could see my friend who all of a sudden had a machine gun but he ended up dieing quick.

Once again I thought this was real and it happened so fast that I was scared. When I woke up and realized what had happened I was impressed that my mind could come up with such things. (I've had some really intriguing dreams) Everything was 100% real and I felt every bullet, emotion, etc. I loved that dream ever since I woke up but at the time I hated it. You should've seen how fast we ran when we realized the guys were enemies and then to be surprised by a firing squad :p

I may have had scarier dreams but these dreams scared me because I thought they were real and actually happening. I'm rather impressed how I handled the "Country Betrayal"

Well to be honest people can't look at other people's dreams and class them as nightmares as such. In my opinion a nightmare is what the actually dreamer classes as scary.
