      keep me level

ok, so i had trouble with this lucid thing at first... had them without trying and then started doing some of the techniques to have them intentionally... then i had lucids a TON and then they started becoming very vivid to the point where dreams and reality have become confused... am i awake? keep posting. am i awake?

You happen to be awake right now... But then again, I may be but a figment of your imagination.

If you're seriously beginning to confuse reality and dreams, then I'd suggest that you lay off lucid-dreaming techniques for a while & just let them happen naturally. I've had some weird experiences as a result of over-doing RCs a bit too much, I think it can mess with your mind a bit if you're sensitive to it. Not that anything bad has ever happened to me from it, probably the worse thing is getting real memories mixed up with dream memories and vice versa. Just take a break from it for a while, and let things happen naturally.

I dunno about that, my dreams are often really boring.

Does it truly matter whether or not your in a waking state of mind? This is a question I have pondered for quite some time; I too have questioned my state of being on numerous occasions.

I have concluded my thoughts to this: The ability to discern waking life from the dream world is not the issue. The waking life and the dream world are simply one in the same. We live in a world were all objects, living or not, are all connected. The mutual connection which everything shares is energy, a connection to collective unconsciousness. We live in a world of one: where physicality is nothing but an illusion. It is this which connects our dreamworld to our "physical" world.

Disregarding my spiritual beliefs, what you need to understand is that It does not matter if you are dreaming or conscious. What matters is the ability to restrain your ego from influencing your actions. If one is able accomplish this, than the world (Spiritual and Physical) is your oyster.

Maybe I'm rambling... Maybe I make sense. whatever the case may be,

I can't see how lucids are making this worse. You have to be aware that you are in a dream in order to be lucid. Therefore, they would HELP you differentiate between reality and dreams. Am I missing something here? Are these true lucids or more along the lines of a semi-lucid?

i see what you mean... i dont know what my problem has been lately. all i know is that ive often felt entirely sure lately that ive been dreaming (i guess youd say i thought i was "dilding") and then it turned out i wasnt. to the point where ive said it to other people... and to the point where im not sure if im just not exerting enough control over my own lucid dreams. its actually a huge relief when im entirely sure im dreaming... at least that way i know where i stand. (i just checked to make sure im not dreaming right now, and im pretty sure im not, so other people should be able to read this?) i think everyone is going to think im lying about this. and youre right, to have a lucid dream you must be SURE youre dreaming, right? so whats my deal?

have you watched the matrix recently?

      /joke

did you initially induce lucids by doing a ton of RC's throughout the day? that could be it?

ive had lucid dreams my whole life, and just recently found out that they weren't the norm, so i looked them up on the net. the i started doing the techniques. they work really well for me. i guess too well? i dont know. crazy stuff though. i think maybe a huge problem is that i have these ultra vivid dreams that ARENT lucid... which has never happened before. thats screwing with me.

maybe you should stop doing whatever you do to induce them recently, as others have suggested.

try telling yourself to NOT have them before you go to bed, or that you WONT remember your dreams.

The main reason is probably that you're simply paying more attention to your dreams. Whenever you're getting confused, stop and try to work yourself out. Hopefully this confusion will be only temporary.
