Strange experience. Help please.

So it was only my second fully lucid dream, last night, but something very strange happened and I was wondering if it's a common thing. So I was having a lucid dreams and I became so amused with the dream I began to laugh very hard, then I seemed to flash backward through a dark tunnel and awoke with the exact same feeling of amusment and fully aware of what happened. My only guess as to what happened was, being a newbie, I got to ahead of myself and awoke (something that happened often in my early stages). But I feel as though I was fully aware as my consiousness shifted from the dream reality to the waking reality, hence the dark tunnel I was dragged back through. Is there any precedence for this sort of thing or any other possible explination?

The same thing happened to me the first time I had an actual lucid dream. I was walking around in my foyer, completely aware that I was dreaming...I decided to test a light switch as I had read that you can't control light levels in a dream. I flicked the light switch off, but the light stayed on. I started laughing and got really excited by this...then my whole world immediately started fading to black and I knew I was waking up.

Yes I noticed that when I am having a dream I seldom will be aware when it is going to end or when I am going to wake up. But when I am having a Lucid Dream I can tell when it is going to end and when I am going to wake up. To me every thing starts to go blurry and fade and then I open my eyes. So yes I have experienced what you have.

Can't really say about the tunnel, but its pretty normal that any level of excitement or extreme emotion will ruin the stability of a lucid dream and most likely wake you up. The key to stability is remaining as accepting and calm as possible.

Hmm I am not fimiliar with this? The tunnel, I mean.

Actually I have experienced this now that I think about it, the best reference I can think of is "Don't Go Into The Light" for instance you will be standing and as the dream fades/ends it becomes black however there is a light in the distance. I believe the light could be your eyes and when you reach it your eyes open. Or at least this has happened to me a few times now that I think back on it.
