      Dreams Control

The other day in the chat, MSG mentioned something to a newbie that I can't help but feel is incredibly important:

"Control your dreams, don't let dreams control you."

Now, it's been a year or so since I last looked, but I think it briefly mentions something to this effect on the main site, about how we shouldn't allow dreams to substitute reality.

So, you wonderful people, how much should we focus on lucid dreaming? Should it be a hobby or way of life? (I always did like Lucius' idea of 'Lucid Living' when he talked about it, but that's another thing) How much time should be invest in making a small portion of out lifes that much better?

      How far is too far?

I believe in using lucid dreaming as a way to enhance waking life. It's wrong to get sucked too deeply into it, also it's wrong to turn your back on it.

I for one can say that lucid dreaming has improved my life in many areas

Well I would not suggest that you sleep your life away. Even though 1/3 of our lifes is spent sleeping and therefore 1/3 of our life has the potential to be dreams. I would consider dreaming to be a hobby, but to consider it a way of life would be to ignore the waking life.

      Hey bro,

I recently noticed (Though I can't be sure from the information in your profile) that your my age, with the same lucid dreaming interest. Also, I've seen you mentioned a few places on the site as an experienced dreamer, perhaps we can exchange ideas?, talk, or some shizz like that. I could use some ideas/help, (Not asking to be adopted) and hopefully I'd be able to help you somewhat.

Let me know whatya think, talk to you soon

Personally I see it as a little bonus to every day (hopefully ) It's sort of like going to the movies in a way, we all enjoy them and like talking about them but we have other interests aswell

In my opinion, it's like an extremely entertaining video game. They're fun to play once in a while, but you don't want the game to become your life.

A lot of people get addicted to World of Warcraft, which is why I've never played it and I plan on never playing it.

We spend roughly 1/3 of our lives in a dream; this is a significant portion. We spend 2/3 of our lives in reality; this is a more significant portion.

Concentrate on lucidity so that you are able to enjoy it; concentrate on reality so that you will enjoy it even more.

Personally, I see lucidity as a supplement, not a substitute.
      Are you dreaming?
