      Hey I did it...now I need help

I finally had a lucid dream that actually lasted a good amount of time! I "woke up" in a bed that I had when I was a kid and immediately knew I was dreaming. Now here comes the problem. I attempted to do a reality check while i was still in bed. I tried looking at my hands, nothing unusual. Then I tried poking a finger thru my hand, still nothing. I tried rubbing my hands and spinning. None of these techniques seemed to work for me. I couldnt prove to myself that I was in fact dreaming even though I was. Everything felt normal. When I woke up in the morning I couldnt belive how real my dream was. I was wondering what other tests I could do to help me assure myself next time I have a lucid dream?

      Try holding your breath.
      Hello, goodbye, and more.

A technique that I've always used and has never failed me is blocking your nose and trying to breathe through it.

EDIT: I also often notice unusual things when looking in the mirror.

      1. Check The Time (It's Always Different).
      2. Try and read something (Words Dont Make Sense Or Are Scrambled).
      3. Try and breathe through your nose while you plug it.
      4. Count your fingers.
      5. Look at something turn away and then look back (Might Of Changed).

There are tons more these are just some basic ones.

Try summoning or changing things. "Know" what will be on the other side of the door when you open it.

Also, just observe your surroundings. If you see anything impossible, you're dreaming.

I knew I was in a dream, but I could not prove it. None of the rc's I did worked for some reason. I just kinda went along with the dream because I had no control. I was only aware I was in the dream. I'm just starting out so, hopefully, I can do better next time.
