Hey everyone, i have just started researching lucid dreaming in my own time a couple of months ago and i have some questions about WILDs. Now in my understanding, WILDs can be achieved by staying aware and conscious through the transition stage from awake to dreaming. During this transition, one can experience many things from vivid imagery, loud sounds, sleep paralysis and many other sensations.

Before i ask my questions, allow me to explain my situation a little more in depth. Around a year to a year and a half ago, i believe had nearly had WILDs before i even knew of their existence. During this time i would experience sleep paralysis after waking from a night of sleep. It would fully paralyze my body, allowing only twitching from my hands and feet. Sometimes i would also experience a heaviness and an inability to breath. These instances did not last long, and i would jolt up in my bed as soon as each episode of paralysis would end.

Although the first few times i convinced myself it was only a dream, there were some strange things about the dreams i did not understand. One instance(which prompted me to speak to my docter about it) was terrible. As usual i was in bed waking myself up, when the paralysis came on. It was also strange, because that night i had fallen asleep with my t.v on, and i could still hear the sound from it. I began to wonder if i was really dreaming and if i was, how i could still hear my television. Then the inability to breath started. This time i really could not breath at all.

At that moment, i truly believed i might die because i could not breath. I even tried yelling out for help, but my mouth would not open. Just as i felt i could not live any longer, i woke up. My heart was beating rapidly, but strangely enough, i was not panting for breathe. My doctor would later comment that these instances had something to do with my being aware even near sleeping hours. Since then, i have not had any cases of the sleep paralysis or any of the other symptoms.

Which finally brings me to my point. These similarities between WILDs and my own experiences seemed intriguing at the least. So i have been attempting to recreate the situation from nearly a year ago with no luck. My attempts have led to a heaviness in my body, but no paralysis with occasional imagery. So i just want to know if anyone has any ideas or comments on how i can better try to have a WILD or as to what my past experiences were. I am completely open to any kind of explaination for these happenings. Thnaks for reading through all of this, i know it is a lengthy post, but i have been trying to figure this out on my own for a while. Please, any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks again!
