odd dream, feeling small?

I have a really odd dream, it always causes me to awake, and i feel some of the physical aspects of it aswell as mental... heres what happens. generally this is the only dream i remember from that night, its usually in the middle of the night, after going to sleep at around 11:30 PM or something and me waking up at 2-4 AM. what happens, and this is incredibly vivid, even though my discription is sketchy at the most. Somewhat the image i remember is me being close to a huge ship, a container ship, carrying i dont know what, and the light its so wierd, its like brown, like a black and white picture, only its brown, and not bright, like twilight, but darker, and, what happens is this sand like thing (bright, like gold, shining in this dim light) falls on my fingers, at this stage, my fingers are feeling odd, such as numb, its painful, theres just a little bit of sand on my fingers and it feels so heavy, i wake up in a panic at this stage, my fingers are numb and hurting and feeling heavy like in the dream, and i have a huge amount of difficulty calming myself down again, im shaking, sweating and really really freaked out. this is a reoccuring dream, once a year, exactly the same time each year, the time i wake up varies, from 2-4 or maybe even later, but it is always at night, meaning the sun hasnt come up at this stage, i've had this dream since i can remember, 5 years in a row, im gaining more control on being able to calm down, if possible, can anybody tell me what they think, cause of stress or something else? I personally think that its something about being small, weak, or not strong enough to handle something with great responsibility. the images i see, such as the container ship, vary, i cant recall the other places, but they are similer, also, part of the dream is also bricks, same as the dust bright and all goldish, and very very heavy, i try to do this, it wieghts me down, and i cant move, its very very freaky. thanks, FL.

I think most commonly used phrase about interpreting dreams on this forums is- The best interpretor of your dreams is yourself. But I must agree that it has to do with your fear of being small and weak. If the dream happens on the same day every year, then there must be something special about that day. Is it a holiday? Does it signify something important from your past?

Sounds a lot like a nightmare sort of feeling I get in some dreams Usually when Im running a fever The feeling of something very small but very heavy.. dense.. eg. like the sand on your hands Although in my dreams if it were sand, I wouldnt be able to hold it

Your dream is nothing to get upset about... you were probably just sleeping on your hand/arm and that's why it felt heavy and numb.

What a great opertunity You know for sure this dream is comming ! Don't avoid it. Start training your self with the most recurrent immages so that next time you see sand on your fingers or see gold / brown lighting ect. you will become aware and go lucid Then this will give you a chance to explore this dream and maybe deal with these feelings. If I was you I'd be almost too excited to sleep

If I was you I'd be almost too excited to sleep Yeah, tis just, it seems every time i get this, i fall into a state of panic, and im unable to tell wether this is real sand (i mean come on, a couple grains of sand on your finger wouldnt hurt would it?) and wiether i have had the dream before, infact, i dont check what time it is most of the time, i only become aware of what happened in the morning, thus, i may have forgotten quite a bit of the dream, thus i dont remember much, maybe i could try training, im still yet to have my first lucid experience, but i have read up on the tutorial things and etc. basicly, I fear that I will be in a state of panic, or I just wont be able to do anything before i wake up, and end up needing to calm down from the physical aspects of this dream, seems rather outlandish dreams inducing physical \"damage\" in this case, a sort of numbing feeling, only different, thus i probebly havent slept on my hand, and i notice in the morning if i have, and I generally turn alot during the night, so i dont think its that. anyway, I must say I believe dreams can atleast influence physical pains, aches, rashes, etc. each time i wake up, im in a sweaty mess, in a state of panic (saying it too many times no? ) and usually saying over and over again, \"too heavy, too heavy\". also, now i clearly remember through the magic of an hours clear thinking, that there are large gold bricks, larger then bricks, sorta like cardboard boxes, only shiney goldish, that im sure of, i can vaugely remember possibly being trapped, in a small space surrounded with these bricks, all piled up, i believe i start in the dream later on, i've been working away at moving them, and i can get through to the dock where the ship is, thats all i can remember, and im so vauge about it, it could just be a variation on the dream i made up, because i dont remember, its just a quick sequence, it haunts me when i close my eyes, just imagining my hands with this sand, and its very very heavy. Originally posted by Placebo Were you sick or feverish by any chance? do you mean at the time of the dream, or the days around the time? at the time of the dream, i believe in my state of panic that i have a small fever, but i rarely have fevers, and im not sick incredibly often, not this way, and i would probebly notice with other dreams if it where the case. more replies FL.
