      Dream Recall + Alarms

      So i pretty much have to wake up to an alarm everday, was wondering if anyone had any strategies for prompting dream recall after being woken so violently? Im fairly well trainedm so that as soon as the alarm goes, ill immediatly get up, turn it off and turn on my lights. Trying to add doing dream recall/journal on at the end of that, think it will still be usefull?

      Also any experience with dream recall during naps (ie less than 30mins)?

      I was just about to start a thread about this. It's the biggest problem I have with becoming lucid, because I just can't remember my dreams at all anymore. Can anyone suggest ways of waking up that maximise dream recall?

      As far as the naps go, about a week ago I had my first ever nap (besides when I was little). My problem with naps is that I'm always waiting for myself to fall asleep so I never do. First I had tried to WILD but that wasnt working so I just fell asleep for about an hour I would say and I remembered that I had a dream but couldn't remember anything from it or what it was about. I also felt sick and confused.

      For the first part I'll just say that maybe try to get into a less jarring routine where you reach over and shut the alarm off and turn on a light (if necessary) while still in bed and then write in your journal. You will probably forget the first couple of days but soon it will become routine.

      The best way to build dream recall is to do the REM alarm schedule during the night. It goes as follows.

      -Set alarms at 4 1/2 hours into sleep, and every 90 minutes after that. Wake up during these times and write down your dreams, going back to sleep.

      So if you were to go to sleep at 10pm, this is how it would look.

      -2:30am = first alarm
      -4:00am
      -5:30am
      -7:00am, etc.

      Your dream recall should spike up within the first night because when you wake up out of REM you remember dreams the most vividly. PLUS, this technique gives you like 3 - 4 different chances to have an LD since it separates your sleep into different times.
      WBTBs = 5
      DILDs = 17
      WILDs = 2
      DEILDs = 3
      MILDs = 12

      Total Lucid Dreams = 38
      Last LD = 02/21/08
